In this one guys, we return to our cute little friend, the Line 6 POD Go and use it in a full metal production. I create a Guitar and Bass tone using the POD Go, and walk through some of the mix aspects as well as the tones themselves. Everything is in the box, no 3rd party IR’s (impulse responses) needed.

  • Just tried your metal preset. However because I use my pod go on ear phones I am not sure if I am hearing the real sound.

  • With a POD GO… are you able to plug it to your existing audio interface as if it were a normal pedal rather than use it as an audio interface and still get the same results tone wise?

    E.g. ~ Guitar > POD GO > Focusrite 2i2 > PC

I've always wondered because otherwise I would need to be switching between my audio interface and the POD GO a lot for other instruments.

  • Definitely one of the best demonstration videos for Line6 products! I'm wondering, what are you using to monitor the mix and how do you get it to sound so good also on the video? I have a Helix LT, and I'm having serious trouble getting good tones in DAW with DI signals. I can get good results with Helix LT using a real guitar cabinet, but using e.g. Mesa Oversize IRs and Helix's amp sims are a complete struggle for me. I have the same studio headphones you wear on the video (yea, I've heard headphones are not so good for mixing) and have access to studio monitors (Behringer Truth something). I've done the post processing with EQs and resonance hunting with Scott Elliot's guitar tone mastery, but damn there's still something I don't quite get a hold on:D Actually, I have the same problem with Helix Native, so the LT isn't broken or anything. Anyway, keep up the good work!

  • In general I think it sounds brittle. And the buzz on the top end because it's digital is what the tube amp doesn't give me. I believe the sound has actually come so close that we can fool ourselves but side by side tube just has a less brittle warmer rolloff. I just bought a Pod Go and although it's close it just isn't there yet for me. I am debating to keep it and maybe run it through my effects loop for some of the effects. Just because you don't hear it in a mix doesn't mean you don't hear it when your trying to write.

  • Menacing bass tone. The whole song is killer. If you could have any singer on the song should it be? Alive or passed on.
