  • I bought an aria pro 2 when I was stationed in west Germany in 1982, I was stationed there from 1981-1984, the Berlin wall was still in place. I never heard of this brand but I bought it, and to this day, I still own it , I like Japanese basses, they seem to do their homework and next to American basses, they rock.

  • I love the P/J bass pickups configuration. It's the best of both worlds as Van Halen (or Hagar) once said. And in mi opinion the open pore finish improves the sound.

  • Sold. It's got the bark. Really nice resonance and growl. Even with the tone down you can still hear the growl and roundness lurking in the background. Lively resonance.

  • Hi Rumble man any 60 cycle noise. Or noise in general while touching ( not touching strings )?

  • If they're your friends, please ask them to make an exact same thing, only fretless.

  • What does it weigh? The specs and the looks, ticks all the boxes for me, but if it's too heavy, I'm just not going to be able to gig with it. I like to run/jump around a lot on stage.

  • Good review. Being a Detroiter, I give 313 Mk2 2 thumbs up! My first serious bass was an Aria Pro II RSB Deluxe. My dream bass is Musicman 25th Anniversary Edition or Gamechanger.

  • Thanks for helping convince me to buy this bass. I tried the 4 string, which has a killer tone with clarity. The neck and fingerboard is a standout feature.

  • Just received mine a week ago after I saw your video. Quality is ok and it sounds great with a particular character.
Which string set would you suggest on this bass. I mostly play fi ger style in different style soul/funk/rnb/rock…and reggae. If any pickups upgrade which would you go to in order to get more low end (not boxy) but in respect of the natural sound of this bass?
    Keep doing the good work.
    Big Up from Paris, France

  • Two of my favorite bass players John Taylor and Cliff Burton have played Aria basses, so that definitely assures the quality of them. Awesum review by the way. Glad to see you putting out some great content. Hard to find a trusted dealer for these online. Any recommendations? Also. I noticed you upgraded your Helix. Didn't you used to use an HX Stomp? I'm guessing you upgraded so you could get more effects in your patch chain. Haven't seen any reviews on this Lt version though.

  • I have the four-string Harley Benton version of this bass, and it's very, very similar–right down to the roasted-maple neck and the Wilkinson bridge. It gives that very "thuddy" P-Bass sound that we all love so much. I'm tempted to upgrade to this 5-string Aria version.

  • The Wilkerson bridge used in the early days on carvin basses, was not trustworthy, it had a number of problems, but maybe they've improved.
