Okay guys, you’ve been requesting this review and build for a long time, and honestly, I’ve had this kit for a long time and just haven’t had a chance to do it. This is the unboxing, building, review and demo of the ammoon les Paul style guitar kit available from eBay or TomTop. I’m dan, this is guns and guitars, let’s get going
Tomtop sent me this kit for review on my channel, but I’m going to level with you…they don’t sell it for the best price if you’re located in the US. The funny thing is, those eBay sellers have names like “tomtop_uk” and “tomtopwarehouse” etc so when you buy from them, you’re likely buying from Tomtop anyway, so I went ahead and put eBay links in the description as well as the Tomtop link. Now eBay kicked me out of their affiliate program because they think I sell guns, which I don’t, but no matter what I say they came to that conclusion and black listed me anyway, so I won’t earn any referral commissions from those eBay links like I would from Tomtop, but, I would never tell you to spend more than you need to just so that I can earn a little commission. That goes against everything I believe in. This channel is all about getting high end tone on a low end budget, so if you can get it cheaper elsewhere, please by all means do that. If you put some better parts into it, do some finishing work it will be an ok guitar and it’s something fun to do.

I'm actually considering building an ES 335 kit but I'm going to change a few things starting with the neck, tuners, and the bridge. for the neck I'm replacing it with a Birds eye tele neck, for the tuners well I'm going with some M6 Schaller in line tuners, and finally for the bridge I'm going with a floyd rose 1. I may replace the pickups with something that may sound beefy.
And now the guitars are under 100$
The neck pickup is okay, The bridge on the other hand…

The whole eBay ban thing resonates with me. Years ago someone stole my debit card info and was buying stuff. No major charges or anything and my bank refunded it anyway. The problem, however, was that something the thief purchased sent a red flag to PayPal because that was the card they had on file. Shortly after all this, I went to use eBay to buy a part for a car I was rebuilding but the payment wouldn't process. When I called PayPal, they said there was a recent purchase that violated something in their "terms and conditions" and that I was no longer allowed to use their service. I tried to figure it out through the bank but they obviously couldn't tell me what things were purchased, only who the purchase was from. I even sent PayPal a statement from my bank describing the situation of identity theft but they didn't give a damn. So since sometime in the early '00s, I have been permanently banned from using PayPal or their subsidiaries (like Venmo.) Just be glad that you're only missing out on the eBay partnership program rather than their payment processor. Even after 20 years they still refuse to reinstate my account.
I bought a Thomann one for……89€ including shipping. Gonna work on it next week.
There are bolt on kits on ebay cheaper. The set neck is a much better design. I have built these kits before. A slurry of epoxy and sawdust coating the neck and the joint and clamp it up. Stronger than the wood and sustains just as well.
