canadian price for this guitar is 1700$ so a grand done seem back from where im standing
A similar experience to chibson but youve been ripped off Ali Express sell the same for over half the price
seymour duncan pickups the neck material and the floyd rose makes it definitely a good guitar but not at that price imo.
Are Chinese copy of Jackson Kelly ke2 good in ali axpresse please tell me are Chinese replica jacksons good?
Thank you very much for this review. I was just about to pull the trigger on one of these and stopped to watch this and have decided to hold off for something better.
Frets are rough, can you hear that. ????????????. Lol.
Wow…
I really think the Dinky’s just are lower quality as a whole in the Jackson lineup. The American Virtuoso (renamed Dinky) felt the same way you described this guitar, and that goes for over $2000. However, the American soloist SL3 was incredible to play. So I’m wondering if it’s just a Dinky thing, I wanna try to find a soloist Pro Plus to see if they’re all this bad or if it’s just the Dinkys. The American series guitars make me think it’s just the Dinkys.
I have one of these in metallic black and mine has none of the issues you mentioned. Maybe I got lucky or you got a lemon. I paid $899.99 for it and it is worth the money. The neck is phenomenal.
I have several of the pro Vs, pro-plus V’s and a pro-plus soloist. Every single one is amazing.
That polar burst soloist looks awesome! I hope that QC was improved for now
Great video man. Bad nickel frets are fixable, while bad stainless steel ones are a nightmare. Even if your tech works on them, they'll charge you a heck of a lot more.
I know engineers and trade ppl that go to China for their company. The Chinese can make a quality product. They are told by the company to keep the cost down by cutting corners. Not everything is junk. I've had Gibson and fender that I was just floored by the cheapness of quality. Point is don't judge a book by is cover. Shecter has Chinese guitars that are really good.
$1000 for a Chinese guitar and all the subpar quality issues? Hell no!
The Soloist is NOT bigger than the modern Dinky – they share the same outline.
Soloist = neck through construction.
Dinky = bolt on.
That's the only thing that separates the two.
There was a Dinky with shorter cutaways, but that hasn't been in the catalogue for a while now.
Get the Steve vie j'r ibenez its finish is perfect sounds great for its price i would not buy this it cost me £500
The stigmatism between Chinese goods with poor quality has got to stop.
I got one in the second-hand market for 700 euros. Mine, it's well finished, no painting problems. In my opinion it depends on the operators and quality controls. In a store, i saw different colors, and i noticed problems but nothing dramatic. The problem is the price, 1100 euros, brand new, and gigbag. the thing if you afford 250 euros more, you can get an ibanez prestige with a hardcase.
The fret problem was fixed by the previous owner, but if you have the knowledge and the toolingyou can fix that.. Just give some time to Chineses factories to improve the quality. Like we did to the Japanese, 60, and 70s guitars from Japan were crafted like baseball bats. So just give some time.
It's still on my radar. I'm in the market for an under $2,000 super strat, and it has the specs I want. I hope if I go for it, the finish issues are resolved.
Fender has ruined Jackson guitars
Never buy a first gen Chinese guitar. They always make massive changes for the 2nd gen.
I just ordered a Pro + Dinky in the Metallic Black today and eagerly awaiting its arrival in a few days..my last Jackson was a SLQ2 in Transparent Blue and it was awesome..but the JB trembucker in the bridge position put out way too much bass which is hard to believe,,but I installed a SD Black Winter trembucker in there and it woke right up with my EVH Stealth amps..
So I have a Black Winter trembucker here now and will of course check the guitar out first before I swap anything..also I will install a push in tremelo arm real quick like !
You did a great job here pointing some the qc issues out..I will as always thoroughly inspect mine when it gets her..hopefully it's perfect !
Made in China definitely concerns me. Last “MIC” guitar I tested was an Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom and the fret board wood wasn’t properly aligned with the neck wood so you could feel a slight ridge! Was such a bummer to witness-especially at $1500.
If I bought that one, I'd call it "Grover" ????
→ but, sadly, I would not buy it!
( I've got a Charvel, MIM, Dinky, gotoh locking tuners…better, for less…????♂️).
No way, this review just reinforces why we don't trust China.
I don't just mistrust China because they are known for doing cheap & nasty manufacturing.
I mistrust China because they have a scam culture. They have a national motto that translates roughly to "If you can cheat, then cheat" ! ???? They are scammers to make an Indian Call Centre blush!
Yeah man, I will always give anything "Made in China" a wide berth…
They made their bed.
