  • I picked one of these up a few weeks ago. I’m impressed with it. It’s light, easy to use and it sounds really nice. My mate was playing my starcaster through it and it sounded fantastic. I’d recommend anyone wanting a decent 50w amp to consider this.

  • Black start me up. I just put it on Amazon shopping list the end of the month when I get my Social Security check it’ll be my first practice app. It seems perfect for me. I wanted something simple. I just bought a guitar PA from positive grid spark and I can’t handleall the computer password baloney. This app is perfect. It has knobs dials things I can manually turn on and off and change the sound I am 75 years old and catching up on my guitar and I like my Spark stuff but it’s too difficult to use so this is going to be perfect. Thank you.

  • They have a 100 watt version that is similar in size and price. If there is a good possibility you may be gigging with this amp would it make more sense to get that amplifier?

  • Blackstartmeup Appreciate the thorough review. I really like the clean channel but the overdrive channel isn’t very good in my opinion. 5 Watt reduction feature works really well. Cheers from the US!

  • Blackstartmeup. Absolutely loved this review. You have the most engaging style – funny, honest, incisive. I'll probably buy a Blackstar 50R to replace my exploded Blackstar HT5 but that's not important. This was great presenting. You also play guitar very well which, I guess, helps in your line of work. Many thanks. Keep doing what you do. I'll keep watching.

  • Blackstart me up! It's this or the Orange Crush 35rt. Or both and then sell the least good one then get another one of the kept one to make a stereo pair. Or do none of these things and instead replace my cracked crash cymbals and rock out with my Spark Go some more 🙂

  • "Black Start me up"?! anyway, I think it's a great little amp, not quite as good as a Peavey Valve King I 50 watt combo( can only used now) though? What do you think?

  • Ha! BLACKSTARt ME Up! LOL
Hey, great review— I bought my little while back, I'm a newbie so I'm really looking forward to growing into all the functionality of this amp. YOUR video is one of the BEST I'VE SEEN on this amp, so ????????…2 THUMBS UP!

  • Had an ht20 which sounded good, was great for the money but it went duff, due to what an engineer described as 'green board', apparently a series of duff or faulty circuit boards from about 2017.?? I'll try one of these for 185 in UK. Cheap as chips, ideal for solo pub gigger, care homes, pub rocker… Everyone's asleep or comatose anyway! ????

  • I've had this amp for a year and can only say…for me it's the best solid state amp since the 70's…and I've had many solid state amps…Fender…Peavy…Vox…Marshall…and many more.

  • Blackstart me up! This is just what I have been looking for. I play a lot of bar gigs with tiny stages, and I need a simple, reliable amp that takes pedals and can be heard over the drums. Thanks for taking the time.

  • Well that settles it!! I am not buying this amp if you like it…. Just kidding I have been eye balling this amp for sometime and I mostly like it because it’s simple and it has an effects loop that I can use my new Sonicake Matribox II Pro and to take advantage of the cab and amp sims. Oh and “Black start me up” Thanks again Andy I appreciate you and your channel taking the time to review this amp????????

  • I'm tempted to get this as I need something lighter and I'm hoping the HX effects will suit it well via a 4 cable method. Anyone have any experience with the amp this way. Black start me up.

  • Great Video you have earned my Sub. I just got the debut 100r and man what a great amp for the money.

  • I have this amp, i'm a beginner, so i use it for home practice. I mean, even in the 5w setting at 25% volume it's loud plenty enough for home use. So, at full power i can imagine you can play in the open no problem.

  • Thanks for this, wasn’t even considering Blackstar till now. One question. Would it work as well with a multifx pedal such as the Boss GX100.

  • Good afternoon, what is the difference between the 50r Debut and the 30E that they launched, I am in doubt now which one to buy. Thanks.

  • Just a suggestion, D’Addario sell an ear plug set for $50 that are great for blocking up to 20db. That might help with the amp tests. Always protect your hearing. You can’t buy new eardrums, yet.

  • What really sold me on the amp was the last note on the first passage you played on the Les Paul. The way the note sustains and then fades is very musical not sterile like some affordable amps.
