Premier Guitar’s John Bohlinger did a pre-soundcheck hang with Isaiah Mitchell and Mike Eginton of Earthless. Check out how both Mitchell and Eginton conjured up earthy, yet cosmic, tones with minimal gear.
Isaiah Mitchell’s No. 1 is this well-worn Fender Stratocaster that he bought in high school from a friend’s dad. The body parts are impossible to identify by this point, but this loved and abused Franken-Strat has a medium-soft “V” neck (that could be from a ’55), Brierley Pickups, and a Callahan tremolo system. The strat is strung with Jim Dunlop .010–.046 nickel wound strings and played with Jim Dunlop Tortex .88 mm picks.
Mike Eginton tours with his 1970 Ampeg Dan Armstrong bass, strung with D’Addario flatwound strings and played with Dunlop .88 mm nylon picks.

Earthless is like Wow ???? I thought at first they play something like What Acid Mother temple does but their sounds are totally different and very creative and trippy. Their midrange is so creamy and beefy and so comfortable. This guy is nice and his selected pedals are wow ???? He is great.
Is that's a pedal power? No it's a pedal train????
Caught them last night in Barcelona. He's still playing that same strat and killing it. I'm wondering if the body was from a strat plus? Lace sensors, "graphite" nut (strat plus is powdered steel but it could be confused with graphite)…… Hhmmm ????

I saw Earthless at GroundZero SC back in 2017 ish and have been rocking with them ever since. Isaiah Mitchell is a picker that I never get tired of. Keep on rocking! m/

You have to have sideburns or chops to play stoner rock. lol
Love the look of his strat! Interesting sound, very rounded. The pedal board kind of works with that, lots of subtle different mid tone flavours which he really works in his playing of course.
I think Christian Peter's from Samsura blues experiment has that same sticker on his strat.
Echodrive! Those SIB pedals are super cool. My friend has a blue Echodrive that's one of the best sounding delays I've ever heard. Good luck finding one lol.

Everyone needs a Strat/Tele that you'd be happy to drag behind your motorbike for a few miles and then plug into a fuzz pedal and go nuts

honestly if you're getting a bigsby you can afford the extra 30 bucks for all the callaham upgrades. They make great trems.
