I like Inez's sound on the unplugged – is it a chorus pedal he's using?
❤????????
Unpopular oppinion: Mike Starr was very replaceable. There was no point in keeping a generic bassist with drug problems and a bad habit of sleeping with underage girls. His style wasn't special, and he wasn't particularly interesting musically. The difference is that Mike Inez is one of the best bassists who walked the earth.
Mike Inez improved Alices sound immensely studio and especially Live, and he is one of the most humble and nicest guy on Rock n Roll ,favorite band favorite bassist–still rockin hard AiC????
Mike Inez is a great bass player, and musician. Mike Starr was not. Say what you will about Starr, I have no strong feelings about him, one way or the other, but he was pretty much along for the ride during his tenure. Musically, he pretty much contributed nothing, in relation to the songwriting process. His one and only song contribution, “Fear The Voices”, was released with the Alice box set back in the late 90s, The Music Bank. If you’ve heard the song, then you know why it never saw the light of day on any of the band releases prior to the box set.
Panasonic!!
Mike Inez is a total master, his work for Jar of Flies will always be legendary ????
Love this series. I'm a newish bass player and recently found your channel and have been binge watching these episodes.
Our Filipino pride Mike
I love them both, but Star wrote the bass lines to more of my favorite songs..
I have a question for anyone with a helpful answer:
How would you recommend a player learn enough theory to help with song (bass line) composition?
The simpler and more straight forward the better.
Mike will always have my respect. That bass line in Rotten Apple is one of my all time faves and that tone he gets at the beginning of Stone is mind-blowing.
Good video. Thanks man..
Starr played on face lift and dirt so he held his weight as a bass player. I know Starr and Staley were hard-core addicts. I'm from Seattle not claiming to be an insider. My best guess is someone decided that Starr and Staley needed to be seperated.I believe they both were natural talents.A band like AIC isn't grown in music college.( although Quesnsryche and Mettalica are.)
We need bass habits for jason newsted now
You should do a video on how to sound like David Hungate or Mike Porcaro of Toto, the bass work on Hydra and The Seventh One is amazing
Inez rules
I love your videos of bassist habits, and the covers you do are still impressive, do you plan to bring any songs from Motley Crue's generation swine?
Can we get Ryan martinie?
Make a video of "How to sound like Rex Brown (Pantera), Paul Gray (Slipknot) and Shavo (SOAD).
Ive only ever played bass on one of my projects, so I mostly focus on guitar and vocals, but damn I love this channel! I never got so deep into the bass. I've always appreciated it, but I always just kept it simple or played what I thought sounded best at the time. I love this videos tho fr. Thanks for the content bro!
