I bought the bonsai over a year ago and I haven’t bought another OD since. Why? It does everything I need and more, and the JHS mod is without a doubt, the BEST version on the bonsai. The JHS mod is so good, it only gets used on special occasions! No kidding.
The pedal is inexpensive but that is one damn expensive cup of coffee.
I’m between getting this, the morning glory, and the bonsai. What should i do?

I have to disagree with Stevie "preferring" the TS-10 .. the 10 came out in 86 and as far as I am aware Stevie was still using the 9 ..he started using the 10 in 1988.
Jhs flerb pedal
Late to the party. Just got the JHS Screamer v3 at GC. Already affordable but my Store had a 20% off sale so for sub $70 I couldn't resist. First observation: The toggle down sounds like a Maxxon modded TS9 with cleaner gain. On the up switch it almost sound like a Better SD1. Its like 2 great pedals in one. With my Friedman Runt 50 this pedal delivers everything from 70's Rock too Todays most modern and mostly chugga metal. After owning so many dirt pedals over 50 years I can easily say this is probably the best if not a Top 2. Thanks for being the Tone Scientist that you are. Rock On.

In my limited surmising, the reason why there are so many Tube Screamer clones is that Ibanez' original TS9's foot switch was unrealizable. I've had a couple so I know. And now, the clones the the one I just bought from JHS are not expensive, they sound good and are reliable.
