So much better to run the ball end thru the tuner , pull the string straight down and cut it at the length of the fine tuner. Tuck it in and wind it up.
You break a string (and they always break at the floyd saddle) you loosen the saddle tuck the new one in and go , literally takes less than minute , great if you gig . And the string can last till it dies . Just saying .
I was restringing my Floyd rose yesterday and the high e string snapped in the middle of it, it was my first time and I’m still fuckin livid

You only went around once on the D, it looks like ? Do you not feel like you should go around a few times at least ? The low E can get away with 1 or 2 loops. But I always add 1 loop to each as I get higher, ending with the high E having 6 or so loops

I use 9.5 and they are the Goldilocks strings to me. Just right amount of tension. 9s are too slinky and 10s feel a bit tight on a guitar with floating bridge

How often do you recommend a string change?
I never pull out all the strings at the same time. I prefer to replace string by string and tune the guitar at the same time like that i can keep the previous settings.

Just a tip bro, put the ball end through the tuner pegs and stick the other end in ur saddles and ur string will always break at the bridge so u can just loosen it strong and stick it in the saddle and keep going.
When people clip the strings in the middle it drives my ocd nuts.

Hey man as a certified luthier I recommend changing each string individually to avoid intonation problems although to be honest I think your guitar sounded just fine after. But if you ever do notice that you ever have a problem with your bridge try changing them individually. That way you don’t even have to put a term block under your bridge.
