I know this vid is 4 years old, but I'm still dying to know how you went out of the AxeFX into the interface? Was it one 1/4" cable into another input on the interface that wasn't shown? Help!@getgooddrums
First tip.. Try recording on a stereo track in multi mono mode (in PT you can use the trim plugin). Mute the DI side and pan the processed side L/R/C as needed. If you want to reamp just mute the wet side and unmute the DI. You can pan either side of the multi mono track as needed.
I have a M-Audio Fast Track USB, and I use on Windows 8 with 128 sample rate. Got 3.3/3.3ms on Reaper using ASIO4all and I am still bothered with that. I am using now the Direct Monitoring button, but unfortunately I can't listen to my plugins on recording.
How can that Monitor output be a different latency compensation than the Main Out? I tried it and it doesn’t seem to work. Anyways, using the direct monitor of your Axe or Quad Cortex or Helix is better anyways imo
Cubase is so obscure, no? I’ve still yet to meet another Cubase user. Back in like ‘08 I’d hear about it more.
How did he re-route the DI signal? 1:43
Okay I need another explanation of the no latency setup! The guitars are always monitored via control room?
We want in depth monitors explanation and routing a bit confusing when one cant see the routing process
Curious why you need an actual DI box these days. Doesn't every interface have a high-Z input? Or is it more for getting the isolated "through" jack? Also, rad chords, that C#m7add2 "shape", on the 3rd fret is sooo nice
A better way to manage editing the DI imo is to record into a stereo file where one side is your DI box and the other is the amplified tone. That way you only have to edit one clip instead of two simultaneously. Once it's edited you can just pan between them to select DI vs amp.
2005: Alright djenty bois lets set out to be the best band ever!
2020: Been there done that, now let's be the best plugin company ever.
I have this exact setup but I’m using the line 6 helix instead of the axe fx and I can hear the direct input guitar sound in Cubase but for some reason can’t hear the helix tones/presets. Does anyone have an idea what I’m doing wrong??
How does one get the mixer to sit along the bottom of the screen like that?
Cubase, of course. What else?
This is incredibly helpful! Anyone have any idea how to group tracks like Misha does at the beginning of the video in Ableton? Been trying to figure out how to do this, but can't find anything.
"the reason I'm doing that…"
Misha Mansoor on every video he's in.
the vibe changed really quick with the cab changes. Interesting ! thanks for the video !
Great vid, DI all the way from now on.
How is this being routed? Is he going from the Ax Fx into his interface and then into Cubase? Or Ax Fx straight to Cubase via USB out from the Ax Fx. I can’t figure out how this is set up…
Misha what do you have your buffers set too? Hope to hear from you and thanks for the awesome tutorials.
man I cant get this song out of my head ever since I heard it in the other vid. I hope we get to hear it soon!
Does anyone know how to link/group audio tracks like Misha does but in Logic?
Hey Misha, any particular reason for using the Radial over using an extra output on the Axe set to dry (say SPDIF)? Loving the stream/walkthrough vids lately. Thanks!
Wait, but you're Misha from Periphery
