Most Hyped Dual Overdrives – Shootout | King Of Tone, Duellist, Gladio… | Gear Corner

#guitarpedals #overdrivepedal
This is the battle of the most hyped dual overdrive pedals. It’s time for a shootout! Three of them are hyped by guitar players and you’ll have to be patient if you want to get one. The other three are my favourite “insider tip” dual drives. Let’s figure out how they sound and how they compare.
Welcome to Gear Corner!

** Why the “Includes paid promotion” message? **
According to german laws everyone has to mark their videos as advertisements as soon as there’s a single “subject relevant” product, tag or link in it. Even if you didn’t get paid for making that video. Sounds confusing and it really doesn’t help the viewer to see which is a paid review and which isn’t.
— The line of truth: Is this actually a paid review? I didn’t get paid for this video, but I’m using affiliate links and some of the pedals were sent to me to test them.
(I update this line for every video).

  • I had never heard of the Toxic Twins pedal but it was my favorite. It sounds great in every demo, every style and every setting.

  • Here is a lot of gain on the KOT and others in the 2nd round but the Gladio got like no gain, what's up with that?

  • I've tried them all and ended up going with the Boss OD-200… The other overdrives were good, but too limitted in comparison…

  • I have and love the KOT but really liked you review and comments on all of the dual pedals. Cheers!

  • Perhaps one of the LEAST hyped dual overdrives could easily compete with any of tese. The Jetter Jetdrive is a core part of my sound. It really melds well with any amp it's going into.

  • All great pedals, and I own about half of them, but none of them surpass the sound of the Protein for me.

  • Well, without the Tim Pierce pedal (JRAD), I cannot place them. This is one great pedal that is on my board since I bought it. But kinda overlooked.

  • Truthfully, I'd be happy with any one of them. They each have their particular thing and there's not a bad one in the bunch.

  • Double trouble clean side is phenomenal. Other than that most blues breakers sounded similar. And I just realised that the KoT doesn't sound at all like a BB. And it does have a mid hump. Not TS level but there's a clear hump in the mids that is simply not there in the classic BB. I am looking to get a KoT and a Soloist at some point, while the gladio SC will be soon on my board. Right now among others I own a protein and I am super happy with it

  • It would be nice if you reviewed something a normal person could afford. Every pedal your showing is $300+. Your right when you say "hyped".

  • Best of the best?
Are u getting your moneys worth?
I would also like to compare a $30 boss ds1 in the shootout
to see a price comparisons among these pedals as well,… for shits n giggles

  • For me, The King of Tone is it. I have a Gladio and Duellist at home to use too, but the KOT kicks their ass all the time.

  • You said it!
All Hype!, I can get all these sounds and more from great way cheaper pedals.
Don't ask, go out there and try, there are tons of amazing pedals for less than half the price!!!

  • Had a KOT, but could get the same sounds and playing feel with my 50$ Caline Burst pedal – see demo on my channel. From the pedals shown I thought the Coppersound Foxcatcher was a big surprise and delight – really very great sounding and perfectly blanced. Everybody is raving about super glassy sounds…but listen to SRVs recordings, especially from the beignning…I think most of the newer pedals exaggerate something that there never really was in that way the industrie wants us to belive it was!

  • i think Thomann isn't selling Browne Amplification Protein, but the Protein will smash all of them! ????

  • Great playing as always Kris.
I’m missing the Royal Flush from this comparison. I think it’s an interesting pedal and would have like to know how it stands up against this bunch.

  • I'd love to see you do a demo of the Toxic Twins, it seems like an amazing pedal! NOS and high quality parts, dip-switches for different clipping options etc.

Aaaand I just ordered one. Along with the Honey Bee Double Trouble. These demos are really bad for my bank account, haha!

  • And here we go again, your video firing up my GAS again 🙂 Close call between the Duellist, King of Tone and Toxic Twin for me

    Reply
  • And the real winner is… The Revv Dynamis!!!

Each week I fall more in love with that amp… all the pedals sounded amazing! And of course, the player also helps! 😉
    Cheers, my friend!!

  • I've tried a couple of these but have never heard of Kasleder or the Toxic Twins. It sounded great! Really really impressive.

  • All pedals are just great, loved them all. What i would like to see is a comparison between the Kasleder Toxic Twins and the Browne Amplification Protein .
