Nah, is that the first example is polyrhytm, and the second is polymeter?
When you hit 5 notes with equal time in 1 click, you play polyrhytm (no matter what the note groupings are, it's still polyrhytm. You can play 4 note grouping cycle, but if you hit them in the speed of 5 notes per click, it will sound even weirder)
When you play 4 notes in 1 click but the cycle of notes are in 5, you play polymeter.
And, Konnakol is actually polymeter example, since their notes speed are usually constant or 2x or 4x faster (32, 16, 8, 4 notes per beat).
Triplets is actually polyrhytm, the only polyrhytm in western. Western don't have notation for 5, 7, 9, notes per beat. And so does the rest of the world (maybe, because I haven't found yet).
I just came from Andre Hwang video about polyrhtm vs polymeter, maybe someone can explain more of this. CMIIW.

I notice he didn't play ANY example of 5 or 7 remotely close to "fast". Eric Johnson does great 5s and Shawn Lane did, too. Shawn….. you have to see him play to believe he isn't doing all that with two-hand tapping.

GG is such a great teacher – his explanations are clear and he makes it sound so approachable. Of course, each GG lesson needs quite a lot of homework and practice, but I always want to get right into it after one of his lessons. I also love how he's so damned humble! This isn't the first lesson where he's said "I can't do that", and I think that he makes it ok to not be perfect and to be yourself. Superb teacher.
