  • I just mixing the new Ampire with Fortin. Forget what Ampire, the dual channel one. They sound good now since they changed a few things. They use (Ampire) kind of suck, but not now! It combines nice…. Same basic principle.

  • Yoooo this was mad helpful. Great settings to start with for Ampire. First video of yours I've seen and I'm already slappin that like and subscribe. Ya got a great attitude, personality, and above all you are very helpful and concise. Keep up the good work my man, and KEEP IT METAL!!!

  • I got a question. I am using overdrive in front of the amp so to speak. I do it to brighten things up and turn the gain all the way off.

  • I tried the LeGion and could never get a tone I liked out of it. Yours sounds a little better than mine did in the mix, but I'm still not a fan. Can't quite describe it…I end up hearing the music in my head instead of through my whole body. The Bias sounded decent by itself but didn't sound as good in the mix as the amplitube

  • Jason first thank you for what you do. I've been watching your videos on and off for a week or so and you get a Sub today. I appreciate it. I'm back into music after a 10yr "break" and I've bought some gear I'm very happy with. I just want to write, record and publish my stuff. Art for the sake of art. I'm almost 48 and don't care about much except playing. What your channel offers me is really right up my alley and it's been very helpful.

Here is what I have so far:
Strandberg Metal 8 – Ibanez BTB 6 – FL Studio 20 – ToonTrack (EZKeys, EZMix, Superior Drummer 3) – Bias (Amp Pro, FX Pro)

I'm going to look up your exercises as now… I need to get my chops back. 🙂

  • Very well said, in the last few mins of the Video. I have 4 Tube Amps one is about 4k. I'm not loaded. It was gifted thru loss. I love all my valve amps, I jam thru them almost daily. However, I can get some excellent tones & incredible sounding tracks using A good DAW, Sims, Cabs, EQ. I'm talking some excellent mean tones that I could never get from a real valve amp. Unless I entirely draft the hell out of it in the mixing stage. Once the mix is done I have a simulated tone, it's no different right?. I like both and use both. There is a lot of time I can't get the tone looking for in a project unless I go to a physical valve amp. Anyway Well Said!!

  • Dude! Is that an ESP LTD D-5 bass? I just bought a D-4 and it's on the way ????Should get it by Friday. I am going to make a review video for it at some time. Also definitely check out the Emissary plug in by Ignite Amps, it is amazing! They also have a free IR to go with it, and I have been using it pretty much all the time now.

  • I can get no where near that kind of tone and sound with any VST Plugins. I have tried the Emissary, LePou LE456, LePou LecTo. I use the NadIR cabinet loader with the 7 Deadly Sins Impulse Pack. My chain is Ibanez RG w/EMG 81 bridge, Line 6 GuitarPort, USB into Laptop, Podium DAW. My tone sounds fake and hardly any distortion. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hey Jason..!! I gotta say the free amp sim (poulin) came out on top, that sounded really good for something that's free, apposed to the paid versions, actually I have the Poulin amp sims myself, I'm trying to get them to work in my DAW. what Bass amp system are you using to get your tone?? Cheers..!!

  • Try out Neural Dsp:s Fortin amps. Dumped my Fractal Ax8 and dont use Bias amp and Fx anymore.

  • I use Toneforge-menace and it's been great. It has a pedal Sim, cab Sim etc. My cab set up is the sm57 off-axis it gives a nice gritty tone. Oh, Jason are you and the 7 string getting along? 😀
