great explanation man
I have learned so much from watching this and with your Target and Tonality video. Thank you
So: Modes; chord inversions and the 'relative major/minor thing' are essentially the same?
I love this guys teaching making it simple enough for me and others to learn. Thank you . Thank you LC❤
Awesome video and excellent way of explaining.
I’m saving this video and I’m gonna use this for my everyday practice.
I gave a thumbs down your video is as simple as it should be. You have me saying what the hell is he talking about and your camera is too far from your bass I can not see your finger placement. With all due respect go back to the drawing board and start all over again with your teaching please.
First four notes of the hymn Jerusalem = minor 6 arpeggio
And did those feet…
may I ask if this is related to playing a chord and then doing the 1st inversion, 2nd inversion 3rd inversion? or is it only for C Major6 then Am7th
This is known as 'Diatonic Substitution' – ie, the I is the iii & vi, the ii is the IV, the iii is the I & vi, the IV is the ii, the V is the vii, the vi is the I & the iii & the vii is the V.
'The Bass Arpeggio HACK Nobody Talks About' is not strictly true. Joe Hubbards 'Functional Harmony', released several years ago, shows this not to be the case. ????????
Thank you, Lorin! I'm looking at my Circle of Fifths diagram while you explain this excellent system for expanding the range of arpeggios and the light suddenly went on. BOOM. How cool is that. I dig your videos, Lorin!
Basic chord voicing
I need this!!
Lorin ,Thank you so much for your time on the detailed explanations of the importance of arpeggios.. which i have been having trouble understanding.. you've gained a subscriber..
Picked up a bass about a year ago…this specific video just shed so much light to my level up! Absolutely amazing, friend! Wow!
Very cool… talk about connecting the dots!!!????
Nice one Lorin!
This arpeggio idea works in all the modes. For example Em7 arpeggio sounds great over Cmaj
I call this concept "arpeggiodic modes". It's like observing a scuplture in a museum by walking around its four quadrants – same sculpture different perspective.
This guy! The truth. Simplifying and making music. Love it.
This is gold.
Thanks. Sometimes we cannot see the forest for the trees.
