Americans don't know French artists, and that's a shame, because those who do take the time to discover them, particularly through their YouTube channels, are often impacted by their emotional and artistic power. I'd recommend Jacques Brel (I promise you'll be bowled over), Léo Ferré, Nougaro George Brassens, Alain Bashung, Serge Gainsbourg and Dominique A to start with. (But with subtitles, they're wonderful, powerful lyricists). In France, we prefer great lyrics to great voices! But some people have both !

Just a suggestion…wait until a note or natural break b-4 making a comment. The huge note at the 4:50 mark is an example. Having said that, I love the reactions when she blows people away. Amazing isn't she.
