Overdrive? Fuzz? Both! EHX Germanium 4 Big Muff Test

Let’s check out the Germanium 4 Big Muff pedal. This pedal was introduced in 2010 and is not as popular as other big muffs, it seems.

I’m playing an Epiphone Explorer and a Dotch Stratocaster. I’m plugged into an Orange Super Crush 100 which is hooked to a 1×12 Harley Benton Cab with Celstion V30 speaker.

The Backing track in the beginning was recorded on a Boss Loop Station RC-3

I used the Big Muff for the bass as well.
the drums come from an Alesis drum machine.

  • This pedal is very underrated. A lot of people say its not really a "Big Muff'. In some ways this pedal is more translucent than a traditional muff in that it retains some of the character of the instrument you use- unlike other muffs that obliterate tone and sound completely like the muff pedal. I love mine because its very versatile, and it can get both torn-speaker sounds as well as vintage fuzz sounds and dying battery gating sounds. Nice work on the review.

  • This was such a fun video to watch. Great job man.

I’m not gonna lie The Pedel sounded pretty good. Those big box deluxe big muff. That where it’s at. Some hidden gems for sure.
