Can you hear the difference? Which bridge sounds best to you?! ????????
TUFFSET looks amazing. I have a Belrock on my Bunting Willow and its very solid.
Among these I would definitely choose Tuffset bridge. It sounds best to my ears, it's a rocking bridge that makes tuning more stable than a non-moving bridge and you can adjust intonation per string with it. Clear winner to me, but unfortunately I don't have an offset guitar )))
damn, where s that lick from in Round1 ? i have it in my ear, even with drums and all … but i cannot figure out the exact song …
Great video Mark and thanks for the shout!
Miles was famous for playing his sparkle Jag. ????
During the "So What" section, I was jumping around randomly with the arrow keys and listening before looking on screen for the bridge being used. While I could hear differences, there wasn't so much that I couldn't tweak to taste with EQ in a mix. Mind, I suppose the real goal is to get the closest you can to your ideal sound without using extra effects processing, as it would give you the best chance at plugging into a variety of amps and still being able to dial in your preferred tone quickly.
Then again, if you play with lots of pedals and dirt anyway, that's going to color your sound more than anything!
I can tell the differences for sure. I tend to like the Tuffset a tad more, but that is based on my playing style. I also have a Bensonite which I really love as well. I have a Mastery on my Jag build and will probably be replacing it with a Belrok and putting it on Reverb. Mainly because I find it uncomfortable when palm muting.
I see you have the Gerlitz Smudge Off back there on your shelp- Harvey is a friend of almost 30 years. I have one of his Gerlitz amps [#19]- he makes the best stuff. This bridge looks awesome!
The replacement bridges are obviously different and better but between them I can't tell a difference that matters from this recording. Good job rounding it all up and sharing your experience and opinion.
Have you done any comparisons between the Belrok and Bensonite?
funny – you would have been the last person I expected to play a bluguitar amp (stylewise, approach to tone)…rather something like origin effects pedals…but it sounds nice and classy.
From what I can hear : the No Veneer Belrok has slightly more sustain and a touch more zing in the top end. With the Veneer Belrok, the note dies off faster, and there's only a tiny bit of zing missing. The Tuffset has more mids, which honestly, tonally I think I prefer. It made low notes and high notes stand out more. I LOVE the look of the Belrok bridge. Thanks for testing all of these for us!
