4 Guitar Practice Hacks (Most guitarists aren’t aware of!)
These 4 practice hacks can make a huge difference to the speed at which you develop an improve as a guitarist.
1. The best way of sitting with a guitar.
Creating a stable base, so your hands can focus on playing and not on supporting the guitar. Impossible stretches feel much more achievable and you’ll have much more freedom when you get your sitting posture right.
2. A simple trick to make any picking mistakes ring out, so you can easily spot and correct them.
The fundamental rules of practice are really simple. You get better at the thing you do most of. If this is playing correctly, then you’ll improve fast. If you make a lot of mistakes then you’ll get better at making mistakes and these turn into bad habits.
If you can recognise the mistakes quickly, then you’ll correct them and do more of the right stuff!
3. Micro managing practice sessions to improve practice density.
This is a great way of using a stop watch to…
– Enhance practice focus.
– Managing muscle soreness and tiredness.
– Focusing on getting into position for the phrase.
– Starting and stopping the phrase.
4. Should I use Distortion – Yes or No?
Some simple advice as to when and why I use distortion in my practice sessions and when it’s a bad idea!

After 35 years banging piano from songbooks I have a strat. 40 youtube teachers later, after I broke a nail, I found you. What a relief. You sir, are a god. I feel I have a path forward I can enjoy. Now, please learn violin quickly. I got one of those too 😉
You are an awesome teacher and I get a great deal out of your videos.
Many thanks.
Do you use a metronome?
I really appreciate that you associate the video with a short text about the 4 points, thank a lot ! That's is the difference between clickbait/timeconsuming and quality content
