Keep your guitar at 50 percent relative humidity environment always. Rule #1 is hydrate a guitar by acclimating for a few weeks it before fixing anything on it. You can help hydrate the neck faster by cleaning it right when you get the guitar. I think if you oil the fretboard right away the fretboard won't absorb water from the air to expand the wood so only clean it at first then let the guitar sit for a few weeks in 50 percent humidity with a hydration pack inside the guitar case.
I'm about to get a vintage Cordoba c7 a dusty old thing will probably need a truss rod adjustment and definitely some new strings probably low tension at first the Dang rusted broken old strings look 20 or 25 years old lol ???? I think it's late 90s the c7 was first made. Who knows maybe it's the first year it was released I will check the serial number. A new case and a hydration pack are first Got it for 235 I think it's a steal even with minor wear around the sound hole it's a nice deal
That is a great deal. Geez
The C5 was my first nylon classical, and I loved it!
Use 0000 steel wool on the face to get a satin finish.
If I bought that brand, I think I'd pay twice as much to get a higher spec.
Great Presentation! I have a cordoba guitar also.
I bought an older used 2002 version c5 (no truss) and beat up for 50.00… absolutely love it! It's my # 2 favorite sounding out of a current collection of 9 most higher end classical's… So loud, bright and clean playing forceful flam style
Are these ready to play out of the box or do you need to set it up?
You want a satin finish? Sand it with some 2000 Grit.
I do that to the necks of most of my guitars to avoid "sticky neck" but there's no reason you couldn't do the body.
The edges of the frets were sharp because the neck shirked due to poor humidify care and you don't want to buy a guitar that has that
The c3 are same spec but with open pore finish, but that may not be what you want. Also plastic nut and saddle. I think 5s are handmade, also
There was a fairly common issue a few years ago with the bridge on these guitars randomly coming unglued. I have had my C-5 for several years and have never had any problems. Great sounding guitar!
looks like wherever they had it stored in texas was dry and hot i worked a gc as a classical guitarists and never encountered a bad cordoba
You should include sound bites in a revue, thats why I watch guitar revues to consider possible purchase.
Great review and video. I am also thinking of getting a Cordoba.
You got a terrific deal! I just bought one from Amazon for $299.00, and still waiting for its delivery. It doesn’t come with even a gig bag, let alone a hard case!
Congrats on your purchase. Have a lot of fun with it.
The Cordoba C3m is essentially the same guitar but in a satin finish.
Dude, in case you don't know about classical guitars. Classical guitar action is supposed to be higher than steel string acoustic.
