Rig Rundown – Chon
Article & photos: http://bit.ly/ChonRR
The SoCal quartet rolled into town and guitarists Mario Camarena and Erick Hansel set aside a few minutes to hang with PG’s Perry Bean and go over their pedal-heavy setups before headlining a jam-packed gig at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge.
Mario calls San Diego-based teacher, Seth Hollander, his guitar guru because he taught him and Erick their tapping techniques, got them into the Ibanez family, picked out the DiMarzio pickups in Mario’s Ibanez, and even painted Mario’s RG series axe seen above.
While this looks just like another RG series Ibanez, this is actually a (tentatively named) AZ series prototype that Erick recently scored from the company’s L.A. Custom Shop. What Hansel does tell us in the interview is that this proto has smaller frets than a typical RG and has special-designed humbuckers from Seymour Duncan.

Host sounds like he lied on his resume
That matchless is so beautiful.
i miss chon
Good thing dudes play guitar so well cause the personality is so bland. Decent band.
Curious as to what dimarzios are in the floral print ibanez
The best vanished band of all time.
So they were the first ones to use the newly created ibanez AZ models
they came first from Polyphia in playing instrumentals like this.
I need lessons from this Seth guy!
nice
3:55
Certified Nashville classic
Wasn't expecting the Ibanez mini chorus pedal to sound so good
What a terrible interview
i get second hand anxiety from all these guys when watching these, but unfortunately this guy takes the cake ????????????
bro this interviewer just popped a adradial no cap no lie
the interviewer sounds kinda like if cocaine could talk
I love the interviewer but he's definitely off an addy ????????
“Beautiful clean tones. Speaking of that, let’s look at your pedal board” .. what?
Where's the link to this show
7:01 is sooooooooo cleannnnn
The Starbucks must have been gritty that day.
After watching this video for the 6th time I realized that this is the first time I’ve seen Mario without Vans on
good interviewer
This guy sounds like (and kind of looks like) he should be a character in Bob's Burgers
14:10 lol, is that supposed to be a good tone? XD, nice!
Because of this guy.
“The warden” is now on my board.
I like that he actually demonstrated some of his tones and effects. Wish every video had that.
I’m here after ordering Mario’s new Signature Ibanez, the MAR10… and I’m really just trying to see what other gear I ‘need’ ????
Seth Hollander …. who ?
if i didn’t already buy six earthquaker pedals/live in northeast ohio; this video would have made me
Guitar level = excellent
Personality = boring and failed
I dunno guys, the interviewer’s high energy actually doesn’t bother me at all lol. I love Chon but he is really helping things along, I was so relieved when he asked Erik to maybe turn some of them on haha.
I watched this and immediately ordered The Warden compression pedal before finishing the video lol
I know not everyone is a gear head but damn, maybe learn a bit about your equipment.
Its really cool because theyre like the same guitarist
Your clothes look very uncomfortable. Why do you wear this?
Why are guitar interviewers always so nervous
guitar is hot again but the direction its going in reminds me of playing in my room making noice. it would be nice if this new generation could write a good song. just one.
You can tell this dude really loves and respects Chon. <3
This interviewer seems like a big fan ????
dane cook interviewing mario
This guy is either super star struck, or he popped 3 adderall before this interview
the anchor lowkey doesnt know what to do with his hands lmao
