I have a Iconic 5150 40 watt EL34. I go line out into a Bugera 5 watt at 1 watt.
It gave me more highs and a second reverb. Omg does it squeal! I am in total tone heaven!
The problem with eq is they aren’t usually noisy in themselves but they boost the frequency where noise lives
Screw this. I am getting this amp next!
5150's had always sounded like shit to me… someday tried a bunch of IR's that never tried and damn… amazing sound… speakers/IR's are now the first thing that i look for when making a hard bonner tone.
Dump it and get a mesa mark

How would these guys play guitar without a low e string????
GE-7 is noisy when you use in front of the amp, it is better to use it in FX loop. Obviously, you shape the tone of the amp, not shape the guitar signal.

The best way to improve the 5150 is to send it to me. Ill take a 6505 too. Im not greedy. Any tube amp will be ok. ????
A year later I find Celestion Lead 80 212 w/ a TS808 on channel 2 burn engaged gain at 9 o’clock just right for me(low mid high to taste)
I need this damn amp, I got a 6505 2×12 from like 2005 but i need more I NEED MORE GAIN when I was supposed to get this amp, I saw a sick jersey star I grabbed instead .___. ola stop making my gas worse.
