Welcome to episode #250 of the Addicted to Gear Live Show—your weekly fix for guitar reviews, tone talk, and all things gear! In this episode, I’m doing a little spring cleaning and sharing which guitars, amps, and pedals I’m thinking of letting go (and why). We’re also diving into one of the hottest debates in the guitar world: Are tube amps still worth it in 2025, or have amp modelers officially taken over? Plus, I’ll be spotlighting a trending pedal, answering your live questions, and getting your take on what gear deserves a full review next.

Whether you’re a tone chaser, weekend warrior, or bedroom shredder, this live show is packed with honest gear talk, guitar rig tips, and community-driven Q&A. Come hang out, share your thoughts in the chat, and help shape future episodes of the channel. If you’re into guitar pedals, boutique amps, affordable gear alternatives, and everything in between—this one’s for you.

  • Had to catch your show late. I understand how feel about your first guitar. I kind of regret selling my first good electric guitar, a mid 80s G&L ASAT with a Kahler bridge that I sold after buying a Fender 52 Reissue about 25 years ago, thinking I wouldn’t need 2 telecaster style guitars. The guy who bought it said it was a holy grail guitar for him which made me feel good.

is perfect. It seems like almost every time I’m watching,I catch myself shopping. I was just looking at SG’s thinking, maybe I need an SG.????

  • Tony, I have a Korean1981 solid mahogany acoustic that sounds so clear strumming it, but the frets are almost flat. I don't know if a refret would be worth it cost wise. I haven't played a new guitar that sounds like mine yet.
