  • As a middle aged guy, I’ll never understand why my cohort worships this guy. He’s a fine blues player. His music is totally vanilla. I don’t hate him, I just think he’s so boring.

  • I thought the paradox was that he's such an incredibly talented guitar player, but most of his music still sucks.

  • If there ever was a more overrated guitar player it’s modern day John Mayer. 10 years ago he was an underrated gem, now he’s being called one of the greatest guitarists ever, that’s absolutely laughable

  • The name ZZ Top was inspired by bluesman Z.Z. Hill and a combination of that with the idea of "the king is at the top," according to various sources. Band member Billy Gibbons, initially considering "ZZ King" (a combination of Z.Z. Hill and B.B. King), realized it was too close to the bluesman's name. He then thought of "king is at the top," which led to ZZ Top. ,,,,that's A LIE NN TOP OF THE WORLD ZZ -NN COMPASS ,, MOVE TO THE NORTH POLE ,, S ,, POLE COMPASS SABOTAGE KINGS ????????????????????????????️????????️????️????????????????????????????????????????????????????‍????

  • It's about everything , the player the Guitar the Amp which to me is more important than the guitar and the effects if any are used .

  • I forgot who told the story but it goes Van Halen was touring with Ted Nugent. Two different player playing two very different guitars got on stage together and played together but swapped gear. The result, Eddie still sounded like Eddie and Ted still sounded like Ted.

  • Just like the $3000 custom golf clubs aren’t going to make you Tiger Woods. This applies in so many areas of life.

  • Oh yeah, probably has nothing to do with his ungodly expensive two rocks and dumbles and whatever other amps lmao. Not much of a paradox anymore, huh Jersh?

  • it really isn't a paradox, the elaborate setup is a fake to make people think he is doing something that can't be replicated. Not any different than Lee Sklar and his "producer switch"

  • True , but gear matters to a certain degree, like I don’t care how you split it, a blues junior and a boss sd1 ain’t getting close
