  • Fuck schematics.
Download and install chat GPT, pay for the premium version because the free version sucks.
You now essentially have your own electrical engineer graduate and lab assistant with built-in amp mod knowledge, exact component identification and an expert knowledge of your amp model, regardless of the brand. If you Don't know how to solder, it can teach you. If you know how to read and you're capable of stripping wires – you got everything you need with ChatGPT

  • I just did it in my hotrod, it's awesome. I tested it with a clean, a crunch, a medium gain and a high gain, in pedal format, it works in all cases. I can't wait to test it in my band, I think it will allow me to perfectly place myself in the mix !!!! Thanks

  • Love your videos! Which video is it where you play amazing grace? That was epic! Your tone and playing ????

  • the first and most important upgrade is to swap the speaker, then the v1 tube to vintage .then you are better then most guitarists

  • Would you say this is what Blackstar does with its Infinite Shape Feature(ISF) on the majority of its amps?

  • You could try the Marshall setting, then try the fender setting. Then go back to the Marshall setting and lower the gain to see if it's just resulting in lower gain or if it actually shapes the eq at all. Like if the Marshall setting with low gain is pretty similar to the fender setting, then it doesn't really add much

  • These videos are awesome, but you really need to play the same things. It literally took until 11 minutes before the differences became obvious. Please consider that A/B testing you can't go from lead to some soft chord play and assume anyone could tell what changed.

  • top notch. imagine a world where most amps for a mid range intrument dont have a mid range control!!!!!!!

  • I don't usually mention this, but if you do a lot of electronics work, you ought to at least know how to pronounce the word solder. The L is silent. (Like sodder)
That's just one of my biggest pet peeves. Right up there with people who think the T is silent in things that it's not silent in. Like important, or mountain. ????????????

  • If I made this Mod, I'd be tempted to use an old Wah Pedal, put the Potentiometer in that, and put a 1/4" jack where the Pot would be, but put it on the back of the amp, and use shielded cable to run to the new 1/4 jack

  • No, sir! You made mistake. Your lowest slope resistance is o (zero). Your resistor soldered to pot in paralel is shorted via pot legs when pot is in possition way left.

  • Very cool mod. Please do a video on installing the Bkackstar ISP control. That a very interesting tone shaper. I have never seen anyone do a video in that yet. The UK patent info is out there for reference. Blackstar schematics are hard to come by. Thank you

  • Thanks for another cool vid. I think a good idea for these comparison videos would be to film yourself playing a couple licks. Capture in a looper and then play back the same track each time with different positions on the slope pot. All while showing the original shot of you playing. ????

  • Nice mod. Nice playing too. What I do with my homemade tube amps a bit different. Build the tone stack according to fender with a 100k slope. Change the mid pot by a pot of 50kB! Same effect, you can go from scooped American to mid heavy Marshal with some grid. The front panel stay's the same, no extra controles. You can see the effect with the Duncan tone stack simulator.

  • Is this the ‘negative feedback loop’ part of the tone stack? The fender ‘presence’ knob does something similar but it connects it to ground through a capacitor. If it’s the same you could easily add a switch to get both effects.

  • A rotary pot with some set values could be cool! Like the old orange amps had.

  • So this is kind of like the ISF control on Blackstar amps, but with a simpler design. I'll have to try this.

  • Awesome video! This type of information seems so gatekept and I've been trying to figure out how to do this via deep googling forever.

  • The amp that always comes to mind for me that the mod reminds me of is the Orange OR-120 or "The Graphic," since the model for foreign markets had no text labels on the controls. It had a 6-way rotary switch called the "Frequency Attenuation Control" (F.A.C), which controls the midrange of the amp. Then it has a drive control only for the high frequencies. Those two controls alone give you a large pallete of tones. It's a shame Orange doesn't make the amp anymore because no other amp in their lineup sounds like the OR-120 nor can do what the OR-120 did.

  • The black face Deluxe Reverb has no mid control. It works like a Baxandall. That schematic is for a reissue of some sort.

  • If you can cook a fish with your amp, you are also cookin' your tubes, wiring, resistors, capacitors, board, etc…

Also, I love this mod. Great vid.
