So lemme get this straight: you made a VIDEO labeled "Can you play slap on a fretless bass?" and there in no one in the video slapping a fretless bass?
Bunny Brunel is one of the most PHENOMENAL BASSISTS IN HISTORY but he's never on ANY of the "so-called Top Bassists Lists"!!!! Give me a break!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH00A9m-hMk
Yes you can. The great Bunny Brunel has been doing it for decades!
demo at the end of the video would really sound nice with some modulaiton effect added ! like the typical Chorus, or maybe Phaser or even Flanger ?! possibly some auto-wah 😮
LES
CLAYPOOL.
Rounds are tearing up the unfretted fingerboard and flats does not have that classic bright slap tone
Yes you can
Les Claypool has been slapping fretless basses for over thirty years.
i think people say you can't slap on fretless because on normal basses, what makes slap sound good is the pop which makes the string hit the last fret, but there is no last fret on the fretless so it sounds way "weaker"
