HOW to Connect BOSS KATANA to your computer (and setup)

In this review, I give you my first impression of how to connect a Boss Katana to your computer using Boss Tone Studio. The Boss Katana is an incredible amp, however, how does it stand up against a lot of the other newer modelling amps out there today.

The Boss Tone Studio for the MK2 has amazing presets and can allow you to customize your Boss Katana MK2. If you are looking to find out how to change effects in the Boss Katana, check out this video.

So what do you think? Is the Boss Katana 50watt mk 2 still a great choice for guitar buyers? Let us know in the comments below!

  • I bought this amp and my gosh what a waste of money. Why did I buy this? I don't even have a computer. This app is rubbish with the cost of the amp. The special foot switch you need to use it and the Bluetooth device. I could buy a awesome tube amp. What the hell did I buy here?

  • I hated struggling through this with my mk 1, so much so that i won't be buying the katana artist mk 3 that i promised myself if i had a windfall (i have now), im not paying £700 for an amp i can't fuxx up by pressing the wrong button, and i don't have a computer anymore
I'll keep my mk 1 its great live with the android librarian app by juca neary , my mk 1 cost £150 by the way and its so good my marshall jvm 100 half stack stays at home

  • I just bought the new Boss Katana Artist Gen 3 head and have been trying repeatedly to get this thing to work. I have installed, uninstalled and re-installed the latest drivers and Artist Studio on my Mac. I have all the correct requirements but it still won't work and repeatedly says I have to older version. The Boss corporation make some great effects but their software team absolutely suck and this is proved by the amount of people who struggle with getting this to work. Why make something that is so difficult to install?

  • GEN 3 is nothing like this and doesnt even have the same connectors….total BS should have gotten a tube amp.

  • Ridiculously complicated. I'd return this amp if I hadn't waited past the return date to try hooking it up to my laptop.

  • I just got a MKii 100 Head cheap. I got the head because I have a Katana Go that is the best thing I've ever purchased! The internal speaker on the head is not that good compared to my Spark mini. I set up the Mk2 on my very old MacBook running os 10.13. Good thing they still have the old driver for download.

  • Maybe that plug and go problem was last year, because I just got one and tried it out and it worked right away. Also I was wondering how I could record what I play? do I need to download a different software? or can the Boss Katana do it too?
