Probably the BEST Les Paul tone of the 1990’s
Stone Temple Pilots “Interstate Love Song” used a Vox AC30 and Demeter Rack Preamp to get the signature Dean DeLeo tone heard on this classic hit!

Robbie writes the tastiest riffs and melodies.
That song wasn’t a Les Paul. I think Dean said he played that on a telecaster. He’s a lot like jimmy page lol
Everybody played this song wrong until Robert’s interview with Rick Beato hahah
I was so surprised and how hard that song is to play Dean always use these jazz chords that I really had to change the cord, another cord love song for me is the most perfect rock song I think of all time Scott Weiland He was beautiful, so generous with his feelings his heart was on his sleeve. Every song he wrote he was like ripping out and Showing you all his flaws and beauty to it so we could consume him in a way STP best bed from the 90s. My humble opinion yeah Pearl Jam great Alice In Chains is great great but Stone Temple Pilots I still amazing. Yeah I have a hard time accepting the new singer. I got that when I heard the song Meadow, it’s like Scott wrote that song on the wrote it the new singers heart First time I heard it I thought it was but I have never heard somehow, because every STP out beginning to end
That, that chords.
Ive listened to this 15x on repeat and still love it. The distorted overtones are just glorious ear candy to me. Reminds me of Alex Lifesons' style of playing. I wanted a les paul so badly when this came out and couldn't afford it. I'd go to the music store and pretty much drool and think of tones like this. I'm on repeat 25 now.
I think that’s cool but sounds more gainy than Dean’s tone? Could be wrong! Anyway, love Dean Deleo. Not sure why he’s not talked about more. I think he’s way more musically sophisticated than the other grunge era guitarists – more interesting chord progressions and harmonies, cool use of open strings. You can really hear the Beatles and Zeppelin influences more than the Sabbath influenced bands like Soundgarden and AIC who are way more sludgy (but still very cool).
I agree nice tone DeLeo Brothers Awesome
Besides slash of guns n roses come on
This is the exact reason I bought my Epiphone Les Paul style body.
????
It is the exact same color scheme as the guitar in the opening.
And now I know which way to set my pickup selector switch????
Thus is a super good song but the word tone doesn't enter the equation here. Not ripping again itbor anything but it's just standard l.p. and o.d sound
P90’s + AC30 on the original song, right?
i thought it was a demeter through a vht power amp?
So loud!! ????
Sounded great but the E chord is Esus4 not E to A and back. I'm pretty sure
He used a p90 special through an AC30 killer tone
Not bad, though, originally played on a Tele.
That would be Adam Jones in Aenema.
Dean DeLeo underrated AF
I knew it would be this riff somehow – such great tone
What kind of pickups are in that LP?
Robert DeLeo, the best songwriter you've never heard of.
That isht Gurgles!!!
Love it ????????
That better be an epiphone and a line 6
Metal zone?
That descending run with those jazz chords is so tricky to play. Nicely done!
Thought this was a tele
It sounds better when you have a good guitar player.
Adam Jones has that title
