  • Digital John is part octopus.. those arent just fingers, they are tentacles!

  • I have to hear a good high gain sound of the tonex yet. I have one and bought the Satriani Sounds, great cleans and edge of breakup sounds. But the high gain sounds all disappoint me.

  • I wish ENGL could ship stuff to where I live which is Canada, but they can't. ENGL and Mesa Boogie are my 2 favourite amp companies. I have a Mesa Badlander 50 which is great for Modern Metal, but a Fireball would be great for more classic Metal and Rock tones although if you eq it right it it can get modern especially with a boost. That pedal does a very good job replicating the sound of the amp and I wonder what it would sound like as a boost for my Mesa Badlander 50 ahahah. Sometimes Modern Metal tones where made by having the bass loud in a mix instead of turning bass up on a guitar tone which is often a way better way to mix modern metal in my mind.

  • One thing I often miss in these tests. How does the thing handle using the guitars volumepot!?! Does it clean up? Will the highs go away? That is the way I use amp/pedal/whatever digital kidney. Turn it UP and control it with your guitar. Like people used to do.

  • Good pedal. Versatile. Great gain sound and great cleans. Sounds like it can benefit a great number of guitarists needs.

  • I was worried today as it was a long 11 hours since the last OD/Dist/Fuzz copy had been released!!!

  • The camera cuts are a bit strange in this video, very frequent and making me a bit ill really.

  • sad its a digital capture. wouldve loved engl to branch out into transistor amps like orange.

  • dumb question – it sounds SUPER compressed. Is that just the way the sound got processed thru on my end or is that the pedal? It just sounds like a compressor got thrown on the end of this thing with high ratio, low attack, and the threshold cranked … The design of this pedal is what I've been searching for a while! A dual channel pedal with a built in noise gate switching between high gain and clean for hard rock/metal guitar playing.

  • This just feels like a more expensive version of the Mooer pedals with better cab sim (Loadable IR), I have the ENGL one and through 3rd party IRs (which I can't do on my board), it sounds great.

  • Awesome review gents. Could you adjust the mix tho so the guitar sound isn’t boosted so high above your speaking voices? Cheers! ????

  • 1 thing to note, it sounded like a compressor in the recording chain was grabbing hard and kind of nootering the tone wen he dug in which made it a bit hard to know what it was really doing

  • I find the pedal to sound synthetic, in my opinion. But then again, the digital interface recording could be the reason why.
