In this video, Sam takes a look at the brand new for 2017 range of Fender Mustang GT modelling guitar combos…

The Fender Mustang series have been amongst our best-selling guitar amps for a number of years now, offering a huge range of features, awesome tones and great value for money…so how do Fender improve on this winning formula? Well, put simply, add more effects, more sophisticated amp modelling, more power and most significantly, state-of-the-art wireless connectivity. Meet the Fender Mustang GT!

There’s currently 3 amps in the range, the GT40, GT100 and GT200 offering 40w, 100w and 200w output respectively. The GT40 is perfect for home practice and studio work, whereas it’s bigger brothers will hold their own in most gigging situations.

All of the amps feature Fender’s new and improved amp modelling algorithms with 21 high quality amp sims and 47 effects. The Mustang GT’s are also the world’s first WI-FI enabled guitar amplifiers, which when combined with the Fender Tone app (free for Apple or Android devices) allows you to download and share artist or user patches and update your amp’s system software wirelessly.

So take a quick look and listen with PMTV and make sure to check out these new amps at your local Professional Music Technology!

  • What modelling amps can be used with a bass guitar? When I google it, all I come up with is the Peavey. Surely a bass player would want some distortion, chorus, wah, octaver etc. now and then. Thanks

  • so i have a question? with the digital amps, do they all have the same presets? also can i look up one that fender has and download it to a marshall digital amp?
for example. i love the fender mustang gt100 preset 19. if marshall doesnt have that, then can i download it to the marshall code 100 since thats digital modeling amp to?

  • Save your money and get the Boss Katana.. Blows these amps away. I tried the newer GTX 100 Mustang for a week and was overwhelmed and fustrated with the staggering loads of lousy tones and effects in these amps. All the amp settings sound like cheap imitations….I traded it in for Katana and was blown away immediately after taking it out of the box. All the settings sounded awesome. …..I don't have any agenda. Trust me. I'm just a guitar player in a local cover band on Long Island, NY.

  • The big question!
Does one want a modelling amp like the FENDER MUSTANG GT 100 with all the “bells and whistles”, limitless presets, Bluetooth & WIFI connectivity, on board tuner, LED screen etc etc etc
    OR
a simple “plug and play” with beautiful Fender clean tones, a few amp models and presets but with a better 12” Midnight 60 Celestion speaker, open backed with warmth and room filling capacity, not boxy, truly giggable, the new black face FENDER CHAMP 50xl? Yes. unhyped, under the radar and cheaper and better!? No 10 second warm up no need for hours of knob fiddling and hours spent finding the “right” tone?

I want a versatile amp that’s simple to use with legendary Fender clean tones without the LED screen (hopeless eyesight) whereby every note I play in a chord is crystal clear????…and it’s cheaper!????

  • Today I've played 200 GT in a shop and I've liked it, but I haven't got too much money. Do you think the quallity sound in GT 100 is good too? Because I can buy it.
