  • This is one of the easiest and most effective mods I’ve found for the V845—and it’s FREE | REMEMBER: It's also O.K to love the stock sound. If you like both, you could add a switch!

  • Thanks for this! I always watch your tutorials. Do you have a video on how to put an effects loop on a budget amp? I have a Marshall MG15cdr that I really love playing straight into it but I would also like to add some fx after the preamp. TIA!

  • Well, when you play six different things, I don’t know how to compare any of that

  • The circuit runs out of headroom and there's some shrill clipping in the sweep. This kind of mod shines with overdrive or distortion, but it's not so great with clean guitar.

  • Ok just had a play with it and can say the Mod is definitely worth doing.????
The SQ is much better but I now remember why the pedal has been in the cupboard for years I don’t like it’s clunky action.

  • ???? Didn't like the mod
For me that was better before. There's distortion in the mod. The vox vintage is the one I use. It's by far the best. Last one.. nah it's got that crybaby sound that seems fatter and not as nice.. that's my ears.

  • Oh wow, now I want to dig in to my Dunlop to see if it has something similar. This is the first time I've seen your stuff, I will definitely watch more. Big fan of wahs, I have several ❤

  • I am not going to lie, I think your secret wah does sound the best! Should I be surprised?

  • Ah man, I got rid of my Vox when I picked up a Crybaby 545Q which has some nice "built in mods" like a variable q (filter peak), a boost switch and 5 slightly different filters to select from.

I always found the Vox kinda meh, too much top, not enough sweep in the bottom, but the mod is actually quite nice! It has that reggae edge. But i dont have one so i cant do it. But cool. Thanks man ????

  • I have to chime in and say I think the V845 was my favorite! I liked the throw of the vocal range and the overall character the best!

  • I had a Crybaby back in the 80s. It was very bland. I sold it and picked up a used Vox (the nice chrome one) expecting to modding it, but it sounds great. Ironically this particular Vox was manufactured by Dunlop! They were making them for Vox for a while when Vox was making a comeback.

  • I kind of like both of them lol. Also, incredibly impressed that you can use a wah without doing the wahway thing with your mouth. Not many can master that skill!

  • Unless you don't improve your playing there are no gear upgrades to hide your lack of skill playing guitar.

  • I felt like the stock version sounded best in this comparison. Second the custom wah, but I didn't like the modded version at all.
