IS NEW FENDER ACOUSTIC ACTUALLY A SQUIER?? (Fender California DEBUT Redondo Acoustic Guitar Review)

Fender expands the popular Squier Debut Series guitar line, now with the new FENDER (not Squier?) California DEBUT Redondo Acoustic Beginner Guitar, with an without pickups and electronics, available on Amazon in multiple colors.

Join me to check out and hear the natural CE acoustic electric, and the matte black acoustic (non-electric version). Can you guess what issue I discovered, and which version was the victim?

  • Thanks for the review! Even two weeks later, this is still the only review of these new Debut series guitars I can find on Youtube. All the other results are for the older California Series Player models.

I'm currently in the market for an affordable acoustic, and this one looks right up my alley. One of my cousins has a Fender FA series acoustic that I've noodled with before, which I liked pretty well. I also have a Squier Debut Strat that I got for $99 on black friday, which I also like pretty well, I'm definitely impressed with what I got for that cheap of a price.

I do have to admit though, the single biggest thing that draws me to this guitar is that big-ass Fender headstock… It looks so cool and different on an acoustic, instead of the usual bland, boring 3×3 headstocks that 99% of acoustic guitars have

  • Hey, just came by to say I did end up getting around to staining the neck on my seafoam debut strat. I ended up going with a turquoise dye and went on pretty lightly. And ultimately decided to sand some of it down strategically to give it the "vintage" look, ultimately I like the way it turned out and fits the vibe of the guitar.

Edit* I mixed my dye powder with alcohol to avoid locking moisturizer in the neck.
