With thick gauge strings and Overdrive, I find it to be a much more solid tone if the blend is dialed in at around 3 o clock, drive off at either 9 or 10 o clock (with the gain boost on, provided your pedal has that) The sound comes out heavy and dry, with out so much muddy tonality and enough gain to add that edge in the mix
clean tone sound much better
