Bowling For Soup LIVE Guitar Gear Rundown! – Jaret, Chris & Rob’s Rigs For Their SOLD OUT 2024 Tour!

Dagan heads backstage and checks out all things BOWLING FOR SOUP at their 2024 sold out ‘You Asked For This!’ show at Newcastle’s City Hall! Jared, Chris & Robs long time guitar tech Ian talks us through all their awesome, legendary guitars, and how they get that instantly recognisable BFS tone on the road!

From Jaret’s famed Texas Flag adorned Music Man Axis Super Sport, to Chris Burleys ICONIC battered-to-hell 80’s Gibson Les Paul Studio, and Robs StingRay basses with some awesome but interesting mods, all running through Kempers and of course Chris’ Mesa Boogie Dual Recs!
This is a great runthrough start to finish! Super simple setups that deliver incredible tones hit after hit after hit!

  • What an amazing experience, and show! Huge thanks to the whole BFS crew for having us! ????

  • With Chris's Les Paul – I'd go so far to say its up there with the longest tenured stage guitars ever. I can count on one hand how many other guitarists have used the exact same guitar night after night with little change for 20+ years

  • So happy I got to see them at this show, the first time I saw them (and the last time I saw them with Chris), so happy I did knowing now that Chris has retired

  • Let me tell you; if I had a guitar like what Jaret has, I’d like for it to have a cool Philadelphia Eagles paint scheme. Go Birds!!!!!!!

  • Just saw these guys in Florence Italy last night…Chris was in the hospital, but these dudes STILL rocked it! My favorite show of the night, for sure ????

  • Loved it. Saw them in Cardiff. Seeing Bowling for Soup and Less Than Jake were bucket list items for me and I ticked off both on the same night.

  • I was there! My first concert, I love BFS so it’s incredible to see one of my favourite bands get a rig rundown (one of my favourite videos) in my home city of Newcastle which is INCREDIBLE!

  • Wow that's so interesting. The stand out points to me are:
    1. Musicman made Jaret custom guitars but doesn't even list him on their website as an artist
    2. BamBam has never had a neck repair despite being a well played Gibson
    3. Chris still uses a good old Mesa setup
    4. No pedals. Just plug in, turn it up and hit it.

Really does show you that you don't need all the latest gear and a thousand pedals to make music sound good. Just a good guitar and a good amp.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  • Saw these guys in Glasgow last night, they kicked ass. Jarets tone was spot on, didn’t treatise it was a Kemper though.
