Ibanez Iceman IC520 Guitar | Review
“The IC520 is very easy to recommend on its playability, tone and build quality.”
Ibanez Iceman IC520 Guitar Review by Guitar Interactive Magazine. Reviewed in Issue 37 of Guitar Interactive Magazine by Tom Quayle.
Welcome to GI 37, a very special issue as it features the amazing Albert Lee. We’ve been trying to catch-up with Albert since GI began but so busy is his schedule (even at 70!) that we’ve only just managed. Don’t miss our exclusive interview or Lee Hodgson’s unmatchable Albert Lee Tech Session! http://bit.ly/GI_37
Also in this issue is the hugely gifted Thomas Blug – not just one of the world’s top Rock players but also a noted amp designer, which you have to admit is an unusual combination! Tom Quayle’s delivers a truly fascinating interview with a great player. http://bit.ly/GI_37
With a full review line-up of guitars, amps, FX, basses, acoustics, home/project studio and live gear (not to mention the amazing Jaime Vendera teaching us all how to be the next Ian Gillan!) and tuition columns we think it’s a pretty tempting package! http://bit.ly/GI_37
Oh, and freebies? Well how about the chance to win a superb Sennheiser wireless mic system or the brand new Red Witch Zeus FX pedal? http://bit.ly/GI_37
GI – still growing and still unique! http://bit.ly/GI_37

Should ANYONE read this comment: can anybody tell me the difference in character (sound wise) between this guitar and the new IC420..?
Daron is this guitar
Was in Japan in the 80s. Had an Iceman 2 and a Phil Collen Destroyer. Both were fantastic.????????
This guitar goes to 11.
it sounds like crap. I just ordered an Iceman Kit. I'm going to finish the top in transparent red nitro finish, and back in natural. I'm putting a set of Bare Knuckle Black dog hand wound pick ups, CTS Pots, Emerson Oil & Paper capacitors, speed knobs, and Grover locking tuners. Topped of with a Bone nut , Tone pros bridge and tail piece, and a set of 9 gauge Elixir Nano Web strings. Should be pretty sweet, and at least light years ahead of this thing.
Does anyone know where I can find a 6 string version that is not a signature model? I have looked online and have only seen 7 string models.
So ugly plus expensive for a ibenze
Tom Quayle can make any guitar sound great.
wasn't this exact model, but the ibanez iceman was my first guitar. I really wish I would have played more.
Do you know what kind of knobs are those?
great look —-put better pick ups in and keys..
Then you realize its becomes a Paul Gilbert Signature ibanez @1:30
Captain Sensible of punk band The Damned played an Ibanez Iceman in the early 1980s.
Worst jack plug positioning in the history of the future past and present
Is it Active or passive pickups?
How is the upper fret access?
U throw Seymour Duncan Invaders in this guitar way better the demarzio s
Daron
I got this beauty and the Destroyer. I love them.
can't decide in getting this or the sam totman series
Anyone knows where can I buy one?
sounds like a les paul but more comfortable to play
Very nice review ! I would like to buy one of these, and would like to know if it is possible to know the serial numbers of this IC520, because looks like there is some counterfeit ones that are on sale on internet. How to know if it a genuine one ? Thanks !
i hate people who knock on Chinese models. if you had a stratocaster made in Mexico or made in the USA, does it make it any different? NO! Mexicans Americans and Asians can swing a hammer and use tools just like any of us can. credits should go to Asia because with out them we wouldn't have rosewood. to them is their highest populated tree, and what do we get, pine trees. so stop being brand chasers or brand bunny's. your being fooled by the guitar companies like les Paul. they've been using mahogany for the longest time and the same o pickups and why is that, cause no one complains, they should using ebony or Korina would by now. it's just like Harleys. they all stay the same cause no one needs complains.
Looks really awesome until 1:26, whoops…….made in China. Lost me right there, no thanks on the Chibanez!!!
Hey your reviews are great! In your humble opinion, would you get this one or the Destroyer? Same pickups?
