For demo purposes, this is great. However, you'll want to adjust your intonation in the playing position. Neck weight will be a factor and intonation will be off unless you play it like a lap guitar.
So Jane I tried this nothing happened , tighten loosen , my 12th fret frequency stayed the same
As other people have said, this got straight to the point and gave solid info.
Have done all this before and my epiphone LP still sounds crap with a capital C…

Is the 12th fret always the best place to measure?
So it’s not in comparison to the other strings, just with itself and the twelfth fret?
I've been watching videos about Guitar intonation for a while now and you just sumed up what others spend 15 minutes explaining. ????
something people always forget is to only ever intonate with brand new strings, for some reason unknown to me it just wont work with old strings, i've had several luthiers explain it to me over the years because i could never figure it out myself no matter how many videos i watched
I love videos like this because they show how much people overcomplicate things. This is so simple and gets the job done better than those long videos.
Here’s how I remember it. With the tuner facing you like you have it, the indicator goes left for flat, so I remember move the saddle left. When it’s sharp the indicator is to the right so move saddle to the right.
If it’s a new guitar it’s important to check the neck and nut before adjusting saddle in my opinion. Most new guitars need some nut filing. If th first fret note is way sharp when the string is in tune nut probably needs a file. Then move to saddle.
I've a Floyd Rose, spending 12 hours with this is pretty decent
It's my first time intonating my guitar (7 string) and I'm doing exactly what you are doing, but the opposite. My g string keeps going sharp no matter how many times I bring back the saddle. Tune it back to Drop G. Barely pinch the 12th fret and it's STILL flat. I just gave up ????
Any advice?
