Phaser Pedal Shootout!
Comparing the Electro Harmonix Small Stone Nano, MXR “Block” Phase 90, MXR EVH Phase 90, MXR “Script” Phase 90, Ibanez PH-10 bi-mode phaser, and Strich Modulator. I use heavy and clean tones, long and staccato notes. There are also pictures of the 3 different MXR circuit boards. Hope you enjoy!

that distortion is from a mesa you say…. do you have it on the bad demo setting
Phase 90 always clips with humbuckers. You can hear it hear it in the top end. Small Stone is a classic and plays with distortion pretty good -it is a distinct sound though….IMO Maxon PH-350 is the best phaser on earth. I will never sell it. Nothing plays with distortion like it. Clean …surprisingly the EVH might be the best MXR. Ibanez is better with distortion than MXR but I am not as crazy about it clean. Strich was HORRIBLE.
I’m liking my MXR Phase 95. Phase 45, 90, box and script in one small pedal.
I dig the Ibanez Bi Mode PH 10 Phaser a lot for a phaser ive never even seen or heard of ! Sounds pretty good for an old Ibanez pedal. I dig the MXR EVH Phase 90 and im not even an 80s guitar guy at all. I mean he shreds just never liked that band, and the look aesthetically does nothing more or less then the phase 90. I do very much like the script option it brings to the table. No LED is the main deal breaker with that particular script reissue. I need an LED. I will always love the sound of a small stone. The one before that one large box was my 1st phaser and 1st love and I played it for 10 years or so as my only phaser live and everywhere. Loved that. Strange how they kept the same large box for Small Clone but didn't until "the $300 gold one" just now sell us the large box small stone. Those nano are famous for breaking unless you have a switching system which I don't and im a fan of pedals that last so ive stayed away from the EHX nano in particular. Love the sound of it. OBV don't like the sound of that STRICH. Awesome phaser video. Eventually some day I'll end up with the EVH MXR I really trust MXR build quality and longevity. Awesome analog pedal company. Love my carbon copy mini(which I use a lot live) and BLUE BOX block logo (which I don't get to use much live because its such a cool gnar octave fuzz thing but I use it on recordings on solos and I hope to use it live in the future on solos) and they are built super tough and sound great. Love the MXR/Dunlop Echoplex unit they made w tap tempo that is one of my favorites doesn't feel as SOLID build quality so I just take it easier stomping on that baby. Cheers and thanks love comparisons of phaser sounds when you show HI Gain sounds and then funky sounds and nice short video. Love it
