I just picked up the bass a year ago after being a lifelong guitar player. I could never understand why someone would want to pay the bass, now I can't put the damn thing down.

It is a difficult thing because, as a teacher I have learned over the years that we are 'hard wired' for allot of things naturally !! If you start with your index on your left hand, your index on your right naturally wants to follow !! You need to develop the ability to split your mind !! It is possible, look at piano players, guys who tap separate rhythm's !! Just takes practice !! Good luck !!
I set all my Fender amps with full bass, no mids and about 3/4 treble, I also use a little Boss Bass Chorus, and of course, Fender Basses !!
Hi Barry. Thanks for the tips. To up my speed, I've been practicing the same 3 finger tech that you implement. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that is struggling to get this tech to sound clean whilst playing the same note. It sure sounds cleaner than my two finger technic on some strings. I try to switch the order in that I place my fingers and it's just learning by doing. I should take lessons, but this is something I need to figure out on my own…thanks again, you're cool 🙂

I think you might be talking about the effects he is using, sounds like chorus, low action also can make a clicky kind of sound if you play the string so it gets a bit of fret buzz, steve harris is a good example
