GTD is back at Hawkes Studio in North Hollywood for another deep-dive tone test — this time featuring the wild and gritty Beetronics FX Tuna Can Fuzz. With its unique voicing and powerful, harmonically rich fuzz character, the Tuna Can delivers everything from vintage sputter to saturated doom. But how does it sound in a pro studio mix? We’re finding out.
???? We ran the Tuna Can through a Fender Stratocaster with a V-neck, into a Matchless Independence 35 amp, mic’d with a Shure SM57 and a Royer R-121 ribbon mic on a legendary 1977 Marshall 4×12 cab loaded with Celestion Blackbacks — so this is as real as it gets.
Recorded and mixed by Stephan Hawkes, this session captures the true voice of the Tuna Can Fuzz in a high-end signal chain. No modeling, no sims — just raw analog fuzz, pro-level mic’ing, and pure Strat attitude.
