I’ve owned 9 basses in total including 2 custom builds, a Spector euro 5, multiple warwicks and the like, and the one which I have got the most out of is the crafter cruiser jazz bass I got for £120 when I was 16. Might not have been a financial investment but it has been an absolute stalwart option in my arsenal and the easiest bass I’ve ever played

I always feel like collectibles should be in a different catagory. McCartneys bass is valuable for a totally different reason than the instrument itself. 60s Hoffner basses can sell for 5 figures. But McCartneys handwritten lyrics sheet for Hey Jude is worth a million. So his bass is worth $300k+. There's no limit to the value a collectable can balloon to.
That foderas value starts and ends with the instrument itself.
