GOT METAL?!? Kevin Frasard Boss Katana Amp Settings
Here are my Boss Katana amp settings for my thrash metal guitar tone. Slayer anybody? Yeah, you better!!! These settings work well with the passive pickups that I have in my Jackson Soloist. When I plug one of my guitars loaded with the active EMG’s, I do dial back the gain a bit. Hopefully this video helps those of you just like me who are in the situation of just plugging in and jamming. Appreciate this question and again, hope this video is of use in any way to those of you who asked about the guitar tone and where I got the Katana dialed at. I have the mk2 head and kat 212 cab its so piwerful i use a 6505 patch for one band and ola englund tone for main band so goid best solid state anp out there

ts gain 0, tone 25-35 level 70-77
amp gain 20-30 volume 50
prescense 75
amp eq basically 666
fx -2 gain q 4 at 315hz and +2 at 2.5 q 4
same for the crunch just throw the gain at about 40-60 and add some gain onthe ts 15-25.
however, this is good for practice alone or with a band. I wouldn't put a katana within a mile of a studio recording unless i need a clean or very low gain tone. just my opinion though.

Have you found a happy medium Tone to "Chug and Shred" without having to re-tweak the settings ? That's my Metal search right now .Maybe you can help ? I been a Guitarist for about 40 yrs. now and I hate that Rap shit just as much as you !! Musicians play Instruments period other wise they are fake poser's IMO ….

So was tossing up on whether to grab a mk 2 50 watt for a smaller rig as i have a 100 watt 6505 + and cab i use atm is the katana a good purchase for a smaller rig ??
