  • Incredible review but the furthest knob is a blend knob on this bass.
    Considering buying one! Sounds great

  • I always come back to this video. I've gotten so spoiled with my SLS Evil Twin that I honestly can't stand the sound of anything else I own. These are seriously the best pickups I've ever had and I do myself a disservice when I chose to gig with a different bass beside my SLS. Blows anything I have with EMG's out the water.

  • sounds great in your demo but i’d be too wary cause i got em in my guitars a few years back and i still get nightmares about how shitty they sound

  • Great vid.

Check out the Dean Hillsboro Select Roasted Fishman Fluence (only 4 string). Has similar set up.

  • I'm thinking about putting the Fishman 6 string pickups into my 6 string Ibanez 206, I have a 5 string Schecter Riot 5 with EMG pickups I love the tones.

  • Awesome review and playing! I've decided on a set of Fishman Mike Inez for my 5. This is the best bass pup review I've seen!!!

  • I'm confused, according to Schecters specs the knob furthest to the your right is a blend knob not a mid knob. Is this something they recently changed in the recent models? I know you did this vid in 2019 but that just confuses me a bit.

  • Planning on getting this set up.for my Modulus Quantum 5. As soon as I do, I will let you know what I think. Right now I have an EMG TWX at the bridge, an EMG TWR at the neck position, with the EMG BQC preamp. I was happy until I heard the Fishman Fluence pick ups.

  • Hey Rodney, i noticed you said that the classic voicing is an active setting, but I saw on the fishman website that the classic voicing is a passive setting. Are these pickups active/passive like the nordstrom soapbar pickups or are they active only?

  • Nice electronics.
THe good: no noise or squeels. Even with the trebles full up. Lower noise than the EMG.
The Bad: trying to get a useful tone. WE all don't drive a ton of effects on every song.
Trying to get a smoother sound out of them.

Wonder if they will ever make them in a six string model.
How about one for a Fender Jazz replacement? They make them for the Strats and Tele replacements.

  • That black band around the strings past the nut… Where do I get one and what is it called? I tried one that went around the neck but it screwed with my tuning. Thanks and cheers! New sub here.

  • My E string sounds like hitting a balloon with the Fishman's.. is it my pickup height? Whether I'm just playing thru my fender bronco 40 or running thru a zoom pedal board to computer… I just want the sound like those Ernie Ball fat pickups… any helpful advice? I'm a year into bass but have played guitar on and off for 25 years… this bass tone keeps changing on me daily? I dunno… please try to refrain from kicking my nuts, cool? Thanks

  • These sound monstrous. Thanks for including the DIs. Really fun to hear them through my favorite bass chains.

  • It's a great bass. I wish they had a couple more aesthetic options, but I'm very interested in these basses, nonetheless.

  • Hi, you mention that the bass has a mid sweep control knob, but there isn't one – just the blend knob by itself?

  • I've been playing G&Ls for the last 12yrs, my main is a USA L2000. I recently got to sweetwater and they had a Caparison Dellinger bass with these electronics. I'm seriously thinking about putting the fishman in all my basses. I was that blown away. And it's not like GLs are a one trick pony either!!

  • These Fishman Fluence pickups and their sounds are so versatile. It is a shame all he seems to want to play is metal, djent, or whatever it is called. It is cool, but it is such a narrow minded, over driven sound it makes for lousy demo.

  • Those Pickups sounds like a BEAST! I cloud experiment with them and replace my bartolini pickups on my Ibanez.

  • I guess I'm kind of disappointed by the way they have their controls for the tone shaping. That you have a knob you roll back for more base and roll It forward for more treble and then a knob that kind of boost low meds or boost high meds or something to that effect. I've gotten used to using the EMG BQC System with my EMG PJ-X pickups, and that gives me a huge range of boost or cut on specifically the bass,, huge range of boost or cut on the treble, plus inside the control cavity there are dip switches that give me four different options for shaping the high meds and treble, and then I've got a nice wide mid sweep knob and a huge range of boost or cut whatever that's mid sleep control is set on. It just gives me so much freedom, so much control, that I'm accustomed to having that right at my fingertips. Obviously, I do not have the options to choose from that the fishman gives you, but it still seems like the end result it more tones to start with to choose from but still less control over where you end up. Realistically I think I'd be perfectly happy having either, or having both,

  • Hey Rodney, what is the factory tuning of this bass? B or E? If B, are you tested this bass in Drop A tuning? This PU are good for that kind of tuning?
