Acoustic Image String Bass Amp

This is a demonstration of a Coda ii R Acoustic Image String Bass Amplifier with a TenX 2 X10″ extension cabinet. I am playing a Cremona SB-3 String Bass that has a carved top. The percussive sound is me tapping my foot…sorry. The Acoustic image amp has a 5″ and 1″ tweeter that are front facing and down-firing 10″ speaker. The Extension cabinet has 2, 10″ speakers: one down-firing and one front firing. The amp weighs 23 pounds and the speaker weighs 27 pounds. I am able to get a much better sound through this amp than I have in the past using a very good Eden and Fender electric bass amps. It just seems that the Acoustic Image eliminates the “boominess” that seems so common when using an electric bass amp for string bass. The amp also works well for electric bass and guitar. I am using a Krivo Magnetic pickup which I bought from Golihur music. The pickup is great in that you are able to play the string bass in loud situations without feedback. perhaps you sacrifice a bit of the acoustic sound for the volume. I love the sound I am able to get from it. I don’t get that finger noise and fingerboard noise that you get with a piezo pickup. If you have a question that I can answer, I am glad to try.
