There are a couple more interesting things about the flick bend: It was initially used by Chris Buck, while he was trying to imitate the sound of a bottleneck playing style, like the one from Derek Trucks. At least Chris Buck is the first guy I heard using it, already a couple years ago, and he's using it constantly!
Other interesting use or it: you can use the flick bend to bend from the III to the IV, as well as the VII to the I, which are both half step bends. 🙂

I feel if you move from the minor pentatonic to natural minor and the phygian on a resolve as well or the V chord sharp the 3rd of the phygian to make it a harmonic minor.
