  • Amazing guitar. Everything about it is top-notch. If I had to say one thing that isn't perfect, it would be the bird inlays. They are just fine but slightly better on the Rosewood version.

  • Other than the strat, the prs cort made must be the best thing in quality and specs. Not fancy but very very well made instrument! Maybe way better than a 2024 mexican fender…

  • (This comment is just me talking myself into buying one ????????????????✌️)

Just noticed all pay plan sites now have these in lefty and even though i barely play at all and dont ever see myself getting “good” at all these giving rosewood option im fairly confident G.A.S. Will win out one more time . Especially since im a blues / SRV fanatic and fender did NOT make player plus strats in lefty sunburst rosewood and i ended up getting a maple …I don’t know why for sure , but theres nothing “ wrong “ with that guitar …its fricken excellent but i seem to have to force myself to noodle around on it …my old 2012 mim sunburst rosewood strat that i put a lot of time in on as a completely newbie was the last inexpensive rosewood fender in sunburst lefty ive seen…and i stupidly sold it years back …(one of those regrets that stick witH ya to the end) …long winded point : i dont care if the sky isnt a sunburst and the colors they offer in rosewood are decent !

  • Has anyone played the $200 sonic series squier and compare it to this prs? I swear its the same neck and quality. Ive played this SE model at guitarcenter and cant get over how similar these necks feel. They dont feel like strat necks. Both a little wider and chunkier. Both have this light cheap budget feel to them. Thats just my take.

  • Was going evergreen/rosewood but now overland grey/maple. Local store has a bunch on sale by appointment only. I'd get both but my wife would freak out.

  • I just got the rosewood version mint condition used at a great price. It’s Dragonfruit. I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s lighter than my USA strat and the pickups seem more mellow. Someone in the comments said the pickups were very hot. I am not finding that. My PRS 35th anniversary has the hottest pickups of every guitar I own. These just sound great. Also the neck is just right for me and I would not want the maple version if it is thicker.

  • I'm either getting either this one Nylon blue on maple or overland grey. I love the maple fingerboard. Or, a player strat. I'm TORN

  • Hey Tom , I finally was able to try one out today, actually identical to yours nylon blue. Quick question, I noticed the front of the bridge is sitting up with the back down tight to the body. Is that the cause for such high string action, because I pretty much liked everything else about it .

  • Initially, I wanted the maple fingerboard. After hearing some comparison videos and thinking it over for a while, I decided on the rosewood. The resonance is definitely different (better or worse, subjective). After noticing the resonance difference, and ultimately deciding on the Rosewood Moon White version – the maple fingerboard feels incomplete for me

  • Hey Tom, I have another question. Some say the maple neck feels chunkier, is that your feeling as well. I really like maple necks but haven’t come across at any of my local shops. And I’m not really a fan of chunky necks.

  • I prefer rosewood but love maple as well. The maple on these looks too white for my taste. I just ordered one from GC, and I'm perplexed because in their description it says it possesses a push pull tone pot for humbuckers sounds as well as single coil tones? Can anyone confirm this statement?

  • The big thing that makes wanna choose se silver sky over fender player is that the rosewood fretboard is so much nicer than the pau ferro imo.

  • Hard to tell what the color really looks like. In this video, it looks more greenish blue.

  • I've had a chance to try out a few samples of the maple fingerboard SE and compare it with the Rosewood models that were in the store. Just a few observations:

-The neck carve on the maple fingerboard models feels a little bigger than the earlier SE Rosewood models. Not necessarily thicker or wider but I think the carve has more "shoulder" to them
-The newer (or recently made) Rosewood models also seem to have a similar carve to the Maple fingerboard versions
-The satin finishes on the maple neck versions don't feel as nice as the Rosewood models
-The inlays on the maple fingerboard version seem to be made up of the same plastic material used on the tuner buttons/truss rod cover (wish they just went with an outline instead)

For myself, I will probably try to find a deal on an earlier used Rosewood model as I preferred that neck carve but those who prefer a fuller feeling neck carve may like the newer models. But I agree, my choice would also be to get a nylon blue or summit purple with the earlier Rosewood board necks. 🙂

  • My educated guess based on Mayer’s niche interests is that this color is based on Porsche’s Murano Green ????️‍♂️

  • The PRS sliver Sky SE is the only guitar in my world where I would be happy with any color choice. They all look great, maybe if I saw them in real life next to each other, only than I would have a favorite.

  • Isn’t it criminal that at PRS itself they couldn’t loan the rosewood model to do a comparison? ????
