You guys need to try other guitars.seriously.
I'm 58 years old I never, ever understood strats? That sounds ok so does guilmor. But the 5 or 6 that passed through my hands I could never play more than one song if I could finish the song. Yet the most popular axe ever! Guess it's just me.
NOT THE ACTUAL TONE OF THE GUITAR.
call this "Douche Mode"
i'll bet he wears a HAT, too
Hi Justin, who told you about that pedal. I'm not a pedal guy but I'm going to get a Morgan fuzz, thanks.
I just designed a super overdrive distortion around a Fender Princeton Reverb lmao!
I'm a shred guy and that Princton with it's 6" speaker sounds like I'm on a Mesa triple rectifier through a 412.
Being both a musician and a scientist was always my childhood dream. The Fuzz I designed around that Princeton is also the Fuzz that will absolutely shatter the Fuzz stereotypes.
I'll be able to get some hard clipped grind and rasp out of it soon without adding diodes and still having the pure fizz and zing that sounds like it's 100% tubes when there's none.
U need to listen to Sean Mann
I was gigging in the early '80s – mid '90s and the only pedals I used were a compressor a RAT nad an EQ pedal, with that combination I could have crunch, overdrive, distortion, fuzz and sweet cleans.
Less pedals for the win. Let your playing be the voice.
This is a good tone for any guitar brand. But as a teacher, I have to always say, never forget that great tone is subjective. 702 similar to a great steak or a great movie. Or a fantastic solo. When the value of anything is something that must be appreciated, then great is or should be preceded by IHMO.
I must say, that is a great Strat tone!
Nice to hear fellow musicians talking about, less is more.
I had a hand-signed one from the maker himself and it was a fantastic pedal. I just never had a need for it and sold it. Kinda sad now…
Perfect tone
That’s not the Strat tone, sorry….
Absolutely love Justin’s tone here and I’m generally not a fan of fuzz pedals. It appears that Morgan Amplification don’t make the shadow fuzz anymore, are there any clones out there or other fuzz pedals that do the same or a similar job?
What Strat is it?
Mid
Love Justin
And, yes, I am a subscriber to his channel
It's a lovely sound … but most of it is coming from the fingers of this obviously accomplished guitarist.
For me the BEST Stratocaster tone is the Bridge / Middle pickup combination running clean through a compressor into a valve amp – Fender Twin Reverb.
Alternatively, that classic glassy 1980s tone created using a stereo chorus pedal (Boss CE3), a bit of compression, into a Roland JC120.
AND OF COURSE … the Fender Stratocaster must have the full Maple neck and fingerboard. The rosewood fingerboards give the guitar a darker sound which I don't think is in keeping with the original Stratocaster sound.
mogami
nah
What's a 'jumper cable'? Is it the footswitch cable or a spare/extra input cable?
Not that different
The best tone from a fender, Stratocaster comes from plugging straight in to a tube amp with a touch of reverb.
I can’t tell this tone that I’m hearing here from anything else. Sounds like all the rest of the distorted sounds.
I'm usually complimenting about a players attack of the fretboard, but in Justin's case his "touch". He's hands speaking in unison brings out such a lovely melodic tone.
That's it…that's the one. yessir. chefs kiss.
