Guitar review – Initial reaction to a Fender Redondo Mini
There are various options for small body guitars available for travel or casual use ranging from futuristic looking collapsible guitars to finely made amplified acoustic models. Needing something to play when traveling with our vehicle, I settled on this model because of the name, good reviews, and price point. Follow along as I unbox it and give it an initial test.
Note that I’m not being compensated for promoting the guitar in the video. It fits the bill for me. Other comparable guitars may work just as well.

Are they solid wood or laminate?
I have a full size Redondo I bought used off ebay a good 10 years ago, not sure how old it is, its a pretty cool guitar but not crazy good by any means. I also have a Martin D35 which of course is great. I also have an Olympia by Tacoma mini guitar the size of yours. I also bought it used many years ago for my kids who had no interest in it so it sat for a lot of years then a good 10 years ago or so I played it and it seemed pretty sweet so I did a full set up and put bone nut and saddle on it, replaced the turners with some Grovers and also cut three holes in the upper bout, large medium and small to give it more sound, it also looks really cool too. I paid $50 for it way back when but man what a great playing guitar, it sets next to my desk and is so small and easy to play, its pretty much my go to guitar. I also take it camping all the time. Tacoma made some really good guitars, if you ever come across one, snag it.
