Thanks for the nice review of the A58 wireless. I have used wireless systems over the years and was fond of the 'Sure' systems back in the early 2000's. They very slightly changed the sound of the guitar but for the better. They added a nice high-end presence and a bit of a mellow compressed sound. I'll check out the XVIVE A58.
Just yesterday was thinking how bad my Boss Katana Air wireless sounded, which I use for practise. The Air's Bluetooth is so noisy on the decay of notes, so this sounds like a great alternative and not too bad in prices eith. Thanks for the head's up.
A plug for a plug that is actually of great value. Thank you!
Bought it, love it, recycled my cables. This was simple and have had no issues in my home. We've got a lot of wireless devices and there have no issues at all. Thanks for the review. They aren't inexpensive but the lack of cables and bad connections and clutter make it worthwhile.
I also don't like any cable trip hazards. However, my previous experiences with wireless systems have been very bad: dropouts, poor sound and latency. In addition, you always have to pay attention to the charge status. There are too many compromises for me. Thanks for the review!
As modern WLAN routers also work on 5,8 GHz, I would recommend to operate these devides as far away from the router as possible. The channel selection therefore is a great help. There are also Apps for smartphones which can check the signal strength on all Wifi channels. This could help if you experience dropouts for no obvious reason. When activating your XVive, you would find it listed in the App together with the SSIDs of all other active devices on the same channel (e.g. a strong or unfortunately very close positioned WLAN router from a neighbour).
Thank you so much.
Always outstanding reviews and tutorials. Thank you, dear Sandra.
????????????
TOO EXPENSIVE!
I've got a wireless system and it's perfect for couch playing. No clutter of wires around the couch to trip over. ????
I found this interesting, Sandra. And, I did not realize you were wireless! I’ve thought about going wireless, as the freedom is appealing. But, was concerned about things like impact one tone, latency, short and long term battery life and just the “fiddliness” (doubt that’s a word) of it. And, this 5.8gHz band is a good idea ????. I have always used as low capacitance cables as I can. But, a system like this sounds like it would last long enough (battery life) to cover a typical 3 hour session I’d need it for. I’ve had Xvive products before, and found them to be a good value for their low price. I hope this works out for you!
I hear no difference (good thing). Had no idea that guitar bugs (?) exist. I only ever see a cable going into the transmitter, which kind of contradicts the wireless concept. I'll def check this out. It could be exactly what i was looking door. Thanks so much!
I have a very budget unit from a company called Lekato, but I am not playing out…if I do start to gig, I am sure I would need something better.
How is your shoulder doing?
only had sound problems with wireless until now, I guess I try these Xvive… – well done review
thanks for this review, I did have troubles with my microwave using the 2.4 GHz…
Someone who understands me. I often avoid plugging in and just play acoustic because of the hassle with the cable. That looks like a decent device.
