The Diminished Cascade ???? This is a little idea I came up with a while back. The concept behind it is to descend a diminished scale with a single line, and as that line continues down another line starts descending from the point at which the first line started, then a third line joins in the same way but rhythmically displaced by one beat. The idea was to turn a simple descending line into a feeling of disorientation. I used a similar idea but with a fourth displaced line added in my version of the Thelonious Monk tune Round Midnight from my second album.
