Great lesson Sandra thank you! I just purchased the lesson. can you do similar for Dominant & Major chords also ?
Not sure where to ask this question as I am a member now, but I was wondering if you would ever consider taking the simple Cold, Cold, Heart and turn it into a jazzy chord melody arrangement….it would show how such a simple song could be embellished with chord substitutions, etc. Thanks, and sorry if this isnt the right place to ask….I have learned a lot from you over the many years I have followed your youtubes…great material !
Fantastic lesson, thank you ????.And can you make a lesson of the song "a kiss to build a dream on", please ? Thank you very much.
Great stuff, thx
Please identify the model & make of guitar and strings used –
I have to commend Sandra, if you are any kind of 'groove' player, the way she has driven down into chunks of vital information pieced together within a Jazz oriented paradigm, there is no guitarist on earth who can't get uplift from her strategy and lessons. From the top of this lesson to around 4.27 – with the right players and some creative variations, you could make an album. Bravo!
One of my favourite tricksters! Thank you!
Li'l Darlin I would like this theme
Danke dafür.
You're the best guitar teacher ever! You make it all make sense. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Sandra, the concepts are pretty straightforward but this will give me a lot to chew on as far as practical application. ????
Challenge nailed by the awesome Sandra Sherman. ????
Very useful and fun lesson! No need to fall asleep while comping…lol!
Always great content and excellent lessons, dear Sandra. I really love your teaching style. You truly are the best.
Thank you so much Ms. Sherman. I find that this lesson is very useful for my level, i.e. a person that can only finish 2 jazz songs on guitars, e.g, The Girl from Ipanema, in the style of Getz/Gilberto from Hal-Leonard – Guitar Play-Along – Volume 105 – Latin, and various sources on YouTube, and Misty in the key of C, a finger style arrangement kindly taught to me by the late Mr. José Madrigal, Sr. My next project is to learn melody of jazz standard songs by pretending that I am learning how to improvise on those chord changes on those songs but using their real melody. Misty is a good example to start with, since it is full of ii-V-I chord progressions, and to learn how to get to that particular chord progression from a previous chord.
Great lesson. Very useful. Thank you, Sandra.
You're an inspiration, Sandra! So many great ideas in this video.
Thank you, Ms. Sherman, another brilliant lesson! I've used the quartal, diatonic and Barry Harris mthods on static vamps, but the last method I didn't realize existed. Thank you for teaching this old dog new tricks!
I’m a little confused. So just moving up the scale by 4th# ?
Great lesson thanks!
Excellent tutorial, as always. Intriguing!
Very interesting. I wonder how one comes up with such things. I mean all those chords can be substitutes for Cm7? That's amazing
I watch your tutorials in awe. This one's no exception. I've watched your minor chords video thinking I knew all the minor chords, and then you post this gem. This is really really cool. Thank you!
Great vid! It's amazing what YOU can do with just one chord. Not sure I can achieve the same LOL
Sandra snorring????? Great tutorial, I like your style. ????????
