  • How true this is , had a friend auditioned for Ozzy to replace Jake , got the audition his JCM 800 cut out in the middle of the solo section of crazy train. Later got the call from Sharon saying thank you but I think Ozzy feels funny about replacing Jake with another half Asian guitarist….smh ps he made it to # 4 in-line to be the next Ozzy guitarist

  • Can a guitarist make it today with just a guitar and amp without all the fancy accessories like pedals?

  • Good cables for the money are the Fender Pro Series. They are really rugged. You want good cables but you don’t have to buy the expensive ones.

  • Les Paul was playing through a Tech 21 combo when I saw him on Broadway. Sounded great. I would avoid tube stuff if the budget is tight. A Tech 21 Sans Amp of some kind or a Quilter of some kind will get the job done and be pretty reliable.

  • Played with another guitarist he had a Carvin amp that the volume would go down. When it went down he would have to go back there and hit it on top until the volume came back up sometimes he would just turn the volume up to compensate then the volume would suddenly come back and he would be WAY louder than the band. He always had bad cables and several times I had to give him strings ( he would break on on the gig) or batteries for his pedals. A total nightmare playing with him.
